L2 solutions will be important to make PlotX super fun and simple. We believe this collaboration with MATIC can take us in the right direction to achieve scale with their platform and expertise.

Here’s a loose idea on how it will be implemented:

1. Stake assets on Ethereum mainnet, and then transfer assets to L2 side-chain.
2. All markets are opened and settled on the L2 side-chain.
3. When a user wishes to exit, they convert L2 side-chain assets to Ethereum mainnet assets.

As a response, we are announcing the PLOT Head Alpha Challenge!

The top 10 most profitable addresses on the alpha stand a chance to win from a prize pool of $500 in ETH

The challenge will start at 12 pm UTC, 31 Aug 2020 to 11:59 pm UTC, 7 Sep 2020.

To compute the net profits, we will use the following formula:
Net Profit = Total Return - Total Staked

Note: Total Return is the sum of all the ETH you can claim once the market settles for all your winning positions during the week. This includes the ETH you have staked (played with) and the rewards you have earned for all your winning positions. Total Staked is the sum of all the ETH you have staked (played with) for all the predictions during the week.

Example: You make two predictions this week on PlotX Alpha, and let’s say that one of your predictions wins and the other one loses. The winning prediction where you play with (stake) 1 ETH, gives you a reward of 0.5 ETH from the reward pool, and thus your return amount will be 1.5 ETH. For the other prediction, you play with 1 ETH with a 1x leverage, and you lose 0.2 ETH, thus your total return amount will be 0.8 ETH.
Now, your net profits will be = (1.5 ETH + 0.8 ETH) - (1 ETH + 1 ETH) = 0.3 ETH.

For complete transparency, we'll share a publicly accessible Google Sheet every day throughout the week. The sheet will contain all transactions that have taken place for that day. Participants can see their performance and the current leaders on the sheet itself.

Since the launch of the alpha in August 2020, the PlotX community (shout out to all PLOT Heads!) has grown many folds. PLOT Heads have extensively used the platform to provide feedback that has shaped the new and improved user interface that PlotX is about to unveil. With this new UI, players can now:

1. See each market move along the different stages of its lifecycle (live, in settlement, cooling period, settled etc). This will enable better visibility on their predictions and results.

2. Play with $PLOT tokens as well, along with ETH. This will be implemented with the mainnet release of the dapp.

📢 Project Update 📢

On the road to Mainnet launch!

As PlotX nears the mainnet launch, security of the code base is at the top priority. In order to ensure code robustness, PlotX has engaged ZK labs (auditors of Polkadot, Tether, Zilliqa, Cosmos) to audit the code base and iron out any kinks or security vulnerabilities before hitting the much-awaited launch date.

With this, we begin the final touch on the codebase and finalize the parameters for the mainnet.

The ZK Labs team will be testing the code diligently and working with PlotX closely to test and incorporate the feedback.
