LOTs of stuff happening. So many conversations, so much feedback, so much excitement! Everyone is working harder than ever behind the scenes to get us to the September 1st week mainnet launch.

Will we get there? Looks likely!

Here are the latest updates:

1. For starters, the community on Discord is now 150+ awesome members strong 🎉

2. There's now a trollbox on the dapp! Click on the discord button on the bottom right of the dapp screen to get started 💩

3. The Plotus Wiki is also live now (https://plotus.gitbook.io/plotus-wiki/). It's a work in progress but some of the most frequently asked questions around Plotus, the Token Model, comparisons with other projects etc are all in there... and more info willingly keep getting added with time. 🤓

For those who're wondering what a trollbox is, it's a discord chat option in the dapp while you make predictions!

Hello Everyone, Big change coming in!

Since the launch of the alpha on 4th August many crypto traders, enthusiasts, researchers and investors have been very kind in providing their valuable feedback on all aspects of Plotus.

Two points that came up consistently during this phase were.

1. The app design is super cool
2. The name Plotus sounds similar to a few other recent DeFi projects with which Plotus has no affiliation

While it’s amazing to hear that the community has appreciated the design, it was important to address the feedback with the name similarity.

After a lot of deliberation and feedback it was decided to re-brand Plotus in the name and style of PlotX.

With PlotX, this community embarks on a new journey. Further, as part of the re-branding efforts, a new logo will be adopted that will better express the new brand name and the same would be updated across all collateral and social media profiles over the next 24 hours.

Lastly, this re-branding will not affect or delay our planned roadmap.

L2 solutions will be important to make PlotX super fun and simple. We believe this collaboration with MATIC can take us in the right direction to achieve scale with their platform and expertise.

Here’s a loose idea on how it will be implemented:

1. Stake assets on Ethereum mainnet, and then transfer assets to L2 side-chain.
2. All markets are opened and settled on the L2 side-chain.
3. When a user wishes to exit, they convert L2 side-chain assets to Ethereum mainnet assets.

The top 10 most profitable addresses on the alpha stand a chance to win from a prize pool of $500 in ETH

The challenge will start at 12 pm UTC, 31 Aug 2020 to 11:59 pm UTC, 7 Sep 2020.

To compute the net profits, we will use the following formula:
Net Profit = Total Return - Total Staked

Note: Total Return is the sum of all the ETH you can claim once the market settles for all your winning positions during the week. This includes the ETH you have staked (played with) and the rewards you have earned for all your winning positions. Total Staked is the sum of all the ETH you have staked (played with) for all the predictions during the week.

Example: You make two predictions this week on PlotX Alpha, and let’s say that one of your predictions wins and the other one loses. The winning prediction where you play with (stake) 1 ETH, gives you a reward of 0.5 ETH from the reward pool, and thus your return amount will be 1.5 ETH. For the other prediction, you play with 1 ETH with a 1x leverage, and you lose 0.2 ETH, thus your total return amount will be 0.8 ETH.
Now, your net profits will be = (1.5 ETH + 0.8 ETH) - (1 ETH + 1 ETH) = 0.3 ETH.

For complete transparency, we'll share a publicly accessible Google Sheet every day throughout the week. The sheet will contain all transactions that have taken place for that day. Participants can see their performance and the current leaders on the sheet itself.
