Interestingly, on the VF demo page, the glyph design changes once you touched the sliders, and stays different even after you drag them back to the starting positions. L: Initial glyphs R: Same values after dragging the sliders 🐦

Update: Revealed in the Material Design blog, Roboto Serif actually comes with 4 axises + italics variant: weight, width, optical size, and grade. The last 2 were not shown on Google Fonts.

Adobe Fonts has this “Newspaper” category for Japanese typefaces, which is legit as such typefaces usually has a wider glyph design to squeeze in more text in limited spaces.

But... there’s no font in this category offered by Adobe Fonts while having it in the filters.
