New soft-root tools dropped !
Two interesting projects using the same public kernel vuln (GhostLock) for temporary root (no bootloader unlock):
- Root My Galaxy (Samsung)
- Root My Pixel (Pixel devices)
- Root My OnePlus
- Root My Nothing
Both give temporary KernelSU / ReSukiSU root on supported firmware. Root is lost after reboot and only works on specific builds for now.
Worth keeping an eye on if you’re on a supported device.

Just a quick heads-up for anyone testing:
There’s a simple GhostLock detector app.
If the app finishes and says safe, you’re patched.
If it says vulnerable (or your phone reboots/freezes), your kernel is still affected.
Some devices just show the vulnerable result without crashing, others reboot. Either way means the soft-root tools above can probably work on your build if it’s supported.

Pixel Gboard features unlocked
Just found this solid repo: Gboard-patches
It’s a Morphe source that lets you patch official Gboard to unlock a bunch of Pixel-exclusive / gated features plus some really practical upgrades:
You can install the patched version alongside stock Gboard (Package Rename) or replace it.
Note: for some of the AI tools to actually work you need to import the libs from the bundled Gboard APK into the normal one.
Pretty clean and useful if you want those Pixel Gboard goodies on any device.

HaGeZi GitHub restricted again
A few days ago HaGeZi got hit by the usual automated bots reporting the account. GitHub locked the repo + account and forced a password reset. Classic “fraud detection” nonsense on a project that’s been running for years with 25k+ stars.
xRuffKez (DNSBunker) stepped up immediately and they’re now hosting the full official mirror together.
Lists refresh every 4 hours straight from HaGeZi’s build system, all formats included. It stays up even after the GitHub side comes back.
I just pushed an update to ControlD HaGeZi Sync so it supports custom mirror lists. Default is already set to the DNSBunker one, with automatic fallback if GitHub returns 404. No config changes needed for most people.
HaGeZi’s own posts on the situation:
https://www.reddit.com/r/pihole/s/UIbd5o9YKr
https://www.reddit.com/r/pihole/s/BxjUWhH1dU
Stay safe out there.
Edit: GitHub restored his repo.

BetterKnownInstalled v1.5.0 is out
Just pushed a new release with some important behavioral fixes:
This still needs proper testing — I’ll be glad for any reviews or feedback if you try it.
Just pushed a new release with some important behavioral fixes:
- No longer wipespackages-warnings.xml(that was only causing repeated warning dialogs and has nothing to do with DroidGuard/Play Integrity)
- System packages (system="true") are now properly skipped instead of being marked as Play Store installs
-packageSource="2"is now added when missing (not just replaced)
- Also handlesisOrphaned="1"andinstallInitiatorUninstalled="1"in addition to"true"
Under the hood: safer line-by-line processing (slower) + updated abx2xml/xml2abx binaries (now with riscv64 support).
This still needs proper testing — I’ll be glad for any reviews or feedback if you try it.
