Google Pixel 6 & 7 series is about to receive official LineageOS support

It's been one year since the Pixel 6 series was released and one good news for the device development, LineageOS is about to start distributing official builds for those devices, alongside with the newly released Pixel 7 series too.

Pixel 6 (oriole), Pixel 6 Pro (raven) & Pixel 7 Pro (cheetah) are maintained by @npjohnson & @mikeioannina, while Pixel 6a (bluejay) & Pixel 7 (panther) will be cover by @mikeioannina only. All these devices are scheduled to receive LineageOS 20.0. Once it got merged, that makes it the first ever ROM to maintain the complete Pixel series, big accomplishment!

For now, the change is currently still in review, but we will notify you guys about it when the official support arrived. Stay tuned. Just for your information, if you had like to receive more updates regarding LineageOS (for Pixel devices specifically), follow @Pixel1Updates.

Pixel 6a just went available a few months ago, and surprisingly, Google is doing a massive discount for the device on their official store.

Originally priced at $449, now you can get it cheap for $299. The promotional offer is only available at the US Google Store for the unlocked and Google Fi models. Besides, Pixel Buds Pro is also $50 off on the US Google Store too, so that means you can get it for just $149.99.

• Fixed reboot issue (with eSIM and Magisk)

Known issues:
• You may need to flash GrapheneOS (outside of locking the bootloader) and then this ROM if you have reboot issues from the stock ROM.
• You have to use the MindTheGApps package provided, if you desire GApps. NiKGApps does not work with this ROM and will cause extensive crashing.
• The status bar is mis-aligned by a few pixels, but this does not cause any usability issues, fortunately.

🎉 Pixel 6 Community 1 Year Anniversary Special Post 🎉
To be honest, we didn't expect that this community is going to be this big, with over 2000 members, a really big thank you to everyone for supporting us. It has been officially one year since this channel was opened back at this time.

Nothing really big to announce, but we are grateful to see that there are a lot of developments going on for these three devices, and we try to post every single one of them that works well over on this channel. Yeah, I hope you guys understand that we are all human after all, we try to maintain this channel whenever we have the time, so we might be late sometimes but hey, better late than never.

I can be confident to say that the Pixel 6 series has the most custom ROMs option among the other Pixel models, I can't even finish counting how many ROMs there are with just my two hands, so be proud of owning it. Oh yeah, there are many kernels to choose from too, which I don't think other Pixel models do. Fingers crossed the development for these devices could continue to be active.

In the early days, I remember seeing a lot of articles reporting that the device has this/that issue, just tons of it, but later it is found out that most other people didn't face the same issue, anyway we will just hope that you don't go into any trouble with the device. And yeah, too bad that once you upgrade your device to a newer Android version, it is currently not possible to downgrade it. I hope someone finds a solution for it one day though if it is possible.

• Fixed issues where a device's GPU drivers sometimes caused the system UI to freeze during normal device use.
