PIVX CORE WALLET v4: QUICK UPDATE FROM DEVS

PIVX developer Furszy has posted a short note to update Pivians on the current situation regarding the upcoming new version of the core wallet and related upgrade to the network.

He said: "Update from our side, new PoS looking good. We are in a segregated testnet now. https://blockbook-testnet.pivx.link/
Check the blocks and timestamps (more specifically the seconds), beautiful."

PIVX FEATURED ON THE EXOBIT PLATFORM

PIVX is among the coins managed by the universal wallet and payment gateway EXOBIT .

EXOBIT allows its users to store and manage multiple coins (PIVX & BTC only at the beginning) and soon also to swap them inside the wallet, to chat P2P privately and get news feeds.

The PIVX & Bitcoin testnet for Exomobil will be released next Wed. 25/09.

MORE TRANSLATORS NEEDED

More translators are needed for the soon to be released version, v4, of the core wallet/client.

The translations are done on the platform called TRANSFIFEX and you'll need to log in there in order to help.

Translators are particularly needed for:

French, Swedish, Dutch, Polish, German, Spanish, Russian, Danish, Korean, Turkish, Portuguese.

The work is between 49% - 73% done and you can contribute to get them to 100% for the next release.

PIVX CORE v4: INTRODUCING COLD STAKING

Although staking online has been pretty safe so far, as the private key only allows staking and not spending (in staking mode), the PIVX devs have pushed security to another level by introducing COLD STAKING in the upcoming upgrade.

This will allow stakers to earn rewards on their offline funds.

CRYPTOSI PROPOSAL FOR IN WALLET EXCHANGES

Renown pivian Cryptosi has put forward a proposal to introduce the centralized but non-custodial exchangers Flyp.me and Stealthex.io into Zephyr, the new opensource, Electrum based, light PIVX wallet.

This would allow exchanging BTC<>PIVX within the wallet. Other coins might follow.

Providing the proposal passes, the timeframe for this upgrade would be approximately 3 months.

PIVX CORE v4: HIERARCHICAL DETERMINISTIC WALLET

With previous versions of the core wallet/client there were only two ways of restoring all transactions and balance:

1) Wiith the wallet file + passphrase
2) With the Zerocoin seed....only for the Zerocoin part.

With the new upcoming version, a single passphrase will enable Pivians to restore all transactions and balance, even without the wallet file.
