Heading to the soiree at mother-in-law’s and then straight to the party at sister-in-law’s

Maslenitsa, also known as the Cheese Week in Christian tradition, is a week-long festival preceeding the Orthodox Lent and dating back to pre-Christian times. Symbolically welcomes springtime and is best known for the tradition of making pancakes throughout the week and having fun outside as well as visiting friends and relatives. Finishes with the ritual bonfire where the effigy of Winter, “Maslenitsa”, is burnt to the cheers of the crowd.

Each day of the week has its special name:
Monday — «Welcome»
Tuesday — «Fun»
Wednesday — «Sweet tooth»
Thursday — «Spree»
Friday — «Soiree at mother-in-law’s»
Saturday — «Party at sister-in-law’s»
Sunday — «Sunday of forgiveness»

Судари и сударыни, поздравляемъ и кланяемся до земли! Благодаря вашимъ активности, вовлечённости и вниманию состоялся первый въ истории Питервилльский Оскаръ, и была проведена въ прямомъ эфире церемония вручения статуэтокъ (въ шутку мы кличемъ ихъ Золотой Максимъ из-за шикарныхъ усовъ, какъ у Горького).

Намъ затея пришлась по сердцу, вамъ, судя по всему, тоже. Значитъ, свидимся въ этомъ формате въ марте 2025. А пока чествуемъ победителей въ каждой номинации. Полюбуйтесь на списочекъ ниже.

Dear Sirs and Madams, we would like to congratulate you and bow our compliments! Thanks to your participation, engagement and involvement, the first ever Piterville Oscar has taken place and the statuette award ceremony has been streamed live (as a joke, we call the statuette “Golden Maksim” because of the likeness of its gorgeous mustache to that of Maksim Gorky).
