I couldn’t find a guide so here’s how you do it:
Go to system/etc/floating_features.xml and find

<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_LCD_CONFIG_AOD_FULLSCREEN>

Change the value from 0 to 1, vice versa to revert

For some reason I couldn’t set a custom wallpaper other than stock and AI generated, try at your own risk

found a workaround: use Google Wallpapers to set a custom wallpaper, otherwise use the default wallpaper manager to set stock photos or AI generated
