Form 4 Physics β Chapter 5: Waves
English (DLP)
Waves: Transfer energy, no matter transfer.
Types: Transverse (perpendicular vibration), Longitudinal (parallel vibration).
Properties: Amplitude (A), Wavelength (Ξ»), Period (T), Frequency (f), Speed (v).

Damping: Amplitude decreases due to energy loss.
Resonance: Max amplitude when forced freq = natural freq.
Reflection: i = r, speed & wavelength unchanged in same medium.
Refraction: Speed & wavelength change, frequency same.
Diffraction: Waves bend around obstacles.
Interference: Constructive (+A), Destructive (βA).
EM Waves: No medium, travel in vacuum, e.g. radio β gamma rays.
