The Water Tower

Earlier I mentioned my old project: a water tower from an ancient DIY pioneer book, which turns 60 years old this year.

I decided that the pyramids were too simple project and I needed to do something a little bit more interesting, so I started a new project in Blender. The second picture shows my models in PrusaSlicer. Now we are waiting for the tower to be finished, and then the experiment will be conducted.

Meanwhile, I found exactly the book I read half of a lifetime ago. You can compare the neuroslop version of the water tower with the real thing. I totally like these black-and-white schemes.

The text is hilarious. "You can use these tin cans, they are the best. Green pea cans worse, but will do." I don't know why, but it sounds... really, I don't know exactly how. Like a magical chant?

Looking forward to pouring water into the tower.

Friday shitposting

Sometimes you say "Thanks, Cap" as if stating the obvious is a bad thing. But in our fast-paced reality, maybe it's exactly the anchor that keeps us afloat. (pun intended)

Հոլ

I bought an Armenian spinning top - Հոլ. You throw it, pull the string, and it starts to spin.

There is an interesting idea here from the physics point of view: the string starts unwinding when the radius is still big, and this is a good condition for starting the motion. Then, while the string unwinds, the radius decreases, giving you an opportunity to reach a high rotation speed.

I spent some time figuring out how to launch this toy. But once you can do it, it quickly becomes boring.

The next story is about how to make it fun again with colored discs, and what physiology is hiding behind these pictures.

The winners are...

The winners of yesterday quiz, of course, nine happy people who chose "Babbidi-bibidi-dup!" option. They are clearly happy!

But, If we are speaking about the truth behind the poll, the picture is much more intriguing. Three very inattentive people voted for the first and third options. It is a test for attention because the first and the third option are the same.

And finally. Who is right? A group of three inattentive people, or powerful unanimous group answered "two"?

The right options are the first and the third. With almost identical prompts chatgpt preferred to create fine-grained patters and claude - well organized solid structures.

It reminds me webs of spiders under psychoactive drugs.

Friday beauty posting

Missing finger syndrome is when your amputated finger itches. Last Friday I had missing work syndrome.

On our son's graduation day, I was fighting a strong desire to grab my computer and start solving a work task. It was completely unnecessary: my half-year review was already done, and all my tasks for the day were closed too.

I'm trying to treat this illness in Montenegro. In the photos, you can see me climbing this beautiful island.
