The position focuses on the metabolic rewiring of eosinophils within the context of tissue adaptation. Eosinophils, a type of myeloid immune cell, play a dual role in health and disease: they contribute to the pathogenesis of conditions such as asthma and allergies, yet also support tissue regeneration after injury. Understanding how eosinophils adapt their metabolism to function in different tissue environments is a critical question in immunology. This research not only addresses fundamental biological processes but also has the potential to inform novel therapeutic strategies for inflammatory diseases and tissue repair.
