πŸ“ Throughout our whole education, we have been going through a certain evaluation system, which is primarily based on the number of the correct answers - the greater number of correct answers the greater the grades. As students, we have acquired the mindset in which we strive to answer all of the exam questions correctly while aiming for the highest grade. Hence, it seems natural to use this mindset when searching for a job, as well.

However, we soon realise that often there are no right or wrong answers - life is not black and white ☯️

It is really common to see fresh graduates who are looking for the best way to kick-start their careers often disregarding applying for their dream jobs, only because they cannot put a checkmark on every single enlisted qualification in the job advertisement.

In this process of looking for a job, we are failing to notice that every (new) job comes with new learning experiences and opportunities, which allows us to grow into the roles, resulting us progressing in our careers - Growth mindset πŸ’‘

❗️ "Practically speaking, it’s useful for almost everyone to treat job ads as though they are a set of guidelines about what a position involves, not a strict list of requirements that any applicant must have. It is important, of course, to have at least some of the skills a job requires up front. But nobody should limit themselves only to positions for which they are already overqualified."

β€œYou will never change your life until you change something you do daily” β€” Mike Murdock

We all have goals, ambitions, but we often forget that life is a journey, not a sprint - There are no overnight successes.

To achieve your goals big or small, create a system that works. Instead of a goal, design a great system or process. Committing to the process and creating a habit out of it makes a huge difference.

There is a school of thought called the 1% improvement, where you commit to the habit of small incremental improvements every single day or week instead of trying to tackle your end goal right from the beginning. For example, instead of trying to run a marathon by March, try to go for a run several times a week and increase your distance incrementally. That way you will achieve your goal without the pressure of having to achieve it by certain deadline.

Build a habit of improving every single day:

1️⃣ Begin with a goal for 1% improvement

2️⃣ Decide how often you're going to work toward that goal and stick with the plan, whatever it is

3️⃣ Focus on achieving that 1 % improvement

4️⃣ Repeat
