For Wellness Wednesday on the 25th March, we welcome Leanne Jones to talk to us about how she healed her body after discovering her cellular health and Bowen Therapy.
From her 20s on, a series of unhealthy lifestyle choices slowly led Leanne down a path that took its toll on her body and prompted her to question how to heal and recover. From a celleular health awakening with ASEA, she discovered a deeper connection with her body through Bowen Therapy and is now a qualified Bowen Therapist.
You can register for this Zoom session here:

For Wellness Wednesday on 25 March, we welcomed Leanne Jones to talk to us about her own personal healing journey learning about cellular health which led her to Bowen Therapy.
Poor health choices had taken their toll on her body and led her to question how to heal. She experienced a shift on that journey that completely changed how she approached health. It reconnected her with her body and helped her to see just how capable it is of healing when given the right support.
You can watch the recording on our PHA Australia Rumble channel at https://rumble.com/v77lu2g-wellness-wednesday-with-leanne-jones-cellular-health-and-bowen-therapy.html
Leanne is kindly offering PHA members 10% off their first ASEA order. You can reach out to her at the links in description box under the recording.

For Wellness Wednesday on 8th April, we welcome Lisa Galatis, a Holistic End-of-Life Advocate and Guide, to talk to us about how to have peace of mind when planning for our families and loved ones, knowing these plans step in when we are no longer able to.
End-of-life planning is not only for the elderly or those who are already dying. In reality, these conversations are valuable for any adult, as unexpected illness or life events can occur at any time. Taking time to reflect on and document your wishes provides clarity for yourself and reassurance for the people who may one day need to advocate on your behalf.

Health tip🌸
Don’t drink as soon as you wake up. Your mouth is full of bacteria and the bad taste of morning breath is the effect of your gut doing exactly what it should over night - trying to cleanse. So if you drink you just swallow the yucky stuff (ama). So cleanse! Tongue scrape followed by oil pulling is what I do but you could rinse in warm salt water instead. The Ayurvedic cleanses are really emphasised in my health plans as part of your general upkeep and I have created a pdf document on dinacharya for anybody interested. 🙂

A guide outlining the different document names and paperwork across Australia and New Zealand.
In the late 1920s, while studying psychology at the University of Berlin, Lithuanian-Soviet psychologist Bluma Zeigarnik became intrigued by an everyday observation made by her professor, Kurt Lewin. During a meal at a busy restaurant, waiters demonstrated remarkable recall for complex customer orders that remained unpaid or unfinished. However, once the bills were settled and the tasks completed, the same waiters quickly forgot the details entirely. This real-world phenomenon sparked Zeigarnik's curiosity about how the brain handles incomplete versus finished activities, leading her to investigate the underlying psychological mechanisms.

Zeigarnik designed a series of controlled experiments to test this idea. She assigned participants a variety of simple tasks, such as puzzles, arithmetic problems, or building figures. In the study, some participants were allowed to complete their tasks uninterrupted, while others were deliberately interrupted midway through. After a delay (often about an hour), she asked them to recall what they had worked on. Her results, published in 1927 in the paper “On Finished and Unfinished Tasks” (Über das Behalten von erledigten und unerledigten Handlungen), showed that people remembered interrupted or unfinished tasks nearly twice as well as completed ones. She attributed this to a form of psychological tension or “open loop” that persists until the task reaches completion.

This discovery, now known as the Zeigarnik effect, highlights how unfinished business occupies more mental space and can contribute to cognitive load or anxiety. It explains phenomena like the pull of cliffhangers in stories or the nagging feeling of unchecked to-do lists. Practically, externalizing tasks—such as writing them down in a reliable system—can help “close” these mental loops for the brain, freeing up attention and reducing mental clutter.Further ReferencesWikipedia overview: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeigarnik_effect

In our fast-paced digital world, the Zeigarnik effect explains why unfinished tasks and open loops constantly tug at our attention, often leading to mental fatigue, anxiety, and reduced focus. With constant streams of emails, unread notifications, open browser tabs, and half-finished reports, our brains treat these as unresolved tensions that demand cognitive resources—even when we're trying to relax or sleep. This is amplified by modern work culture, where multitasking and endless to-do lists create dozens of "open loops" simultaneously, making it harder to disconnect and contributing to burnout or intrusive thoughts during downtime.
