😳 Paul McCartney Banned From Reddit After Promoting Himself in Paul McCartney Subreddit

Sir Paul McCartney was banned from Reddit after sharing pictures of a concert in the r/PaulMcCartney subreddit. Over the weekend, Paul McCartney’s Reddit account attempted to share pictures from a show at Fonda Theatre to the site via a Dropbox link. Shortly afterwards the account was banned. Still, Reddit claims that there was just an error.

"There was a technical bug that made the account look banned, but no one would ban one of The Beatles," Reddit said.

👩🏻‍🦳 Home System Lets Users Create Their Own Hair Dye

Beauty-tech company Zuvi introduced ColorBox, an at-home hair coloring system that can produce a custom dye in any color you choose.

Just like a printer, ColorBox uses three cartridges—yellow, blue, and red—along with a conditioner-based diluting cream.

Through a mobile app, you can pick from a library of 1,000+ preset shades or mix your own color from scratch. Once you've made your choice, ColorBox dispenses the exact amount of each component, and you blend it into a cream-textured base.

ColorBox is priced at $179, with shipping starting June 1st.

💰 Nvidia Is Losing Ground in China to Local Chipmakers

In 2025, Chinese data centers purchased approximately 4 million AI chips, including 2.2 million from Nvidia and 1.65 million from domestic companies.

Nvidia still dominates the global GPU market, but it's starting to lose one of its most important markets: China. Over the past five years, its share there has dropped from 95% to 55%.

✖️ The shift began in 2022, when the U.S. government restricted Nvidia from selling to China its most advanced chips, including the A100, H100, and H200. In response, the Chinese government launched incentives for building AI data centers, requiring companies to use locally made chips to qualify for state support.

💻 The biggest beneficiary so far has been Huawei, which shipped 812,000 chips last year, capturing about 20% of the market. Other Chinese players developing data center processors include T-Head (Alibaba), Kunlunxin (Baidu), and Cambricon.

Could Huawei challenge Nvidia on the global stage?

❤️ — Yes, it's possible
🔥 — Unlikely

🦍 Scientists Document First Chimpanzee "Civil War"

Scientists have documented the first clear case of a chimpanzee "civil war" in Uganda, where the massive Ngogo community permanently fractured into two rival factions following a leadership change.

Over years of observation, researchers recorded persistent, lethal violence that suggests internal social tensions—rather than external political or religious factors—can drive collective aggression.

As lead author Aaron Sandel concludes, "This study encourages a reevaluation of current models of human collective violence."

🪐 10-Year-Old Girl Asks NASA To Restore Pluto's Planetary Status

A 10-year-old student named Kaela has asked NASA to restore Pluto's status as a planet.

She provided three arguments:

1️⃣ Pluto is part of our solar system and used to be a planet.

2️⃣ It is a dwarf planet and deserves to be considered an actual planet.
3️⃣ It might make a lot of people happy.

Kaela acknowledges that this decision might be outside of NASA's jurisdiction, but asks for their help if possible.

The agency's head, Jared Isaacman, replied to her personally.

"Kaela — We are looking into this," he wrote on X.

Do you think Pluto needs planetary status?

❤️ — Yes, please!
🔥 — No, eight planets are enough

🚀 65 Years Ago, Yuri Gagarin Became the First Human in Space

On the evening of April 11, 1961, Nikolai Kamanin, the head of training for the first cosmonauts, wrote in his diary: “Tomorrow, the greatest feat will be accomplished.

The very next day, 27-year-old Senior Lieutenant Yuri Gagarin of the Soviet Air Force would orbit the Earth, spend 108 minutes in space—and forever go down in history as the first human to travel into space. Since then, April 12 has been celebrated as Cosmonautics Day—the date that marked the beginning of the era of manned spaceflight.

📌 Gagarin didn't enter the space program as a ready-made poster hero, but as a pilot from humble origins: he was born in a village, trained at an aeroclub, and graduated from a flight school. He was chosen for the first flight because of his rare combination of qualities: calmness, quick reflexes, dignity, and also his short stature—just 165 cm (or according to some sources, even 157 cm), since the Vostok-1 spacecraft was extremely compact.

💡 After his flight, Gagarin instantly became a global figure. He traveled all over the world, met with heads of state, represented the Soviet space program, and very quickly became a living symbol of technological breakthrough. At the same time, Gagarin continued to work in cosmonaut training and as a test pilot right up until the tragic flight that ended his life at just 34 years old.
