Can you solve this Q from civil services prelims 2019 paper?

PS. Don't just arrive at the ans by elimination, ponder over every statement cautiously.

For example, what are the other criterias to declare a PVTG?

๐Ÿ‘‰If you are someone who revises the prelims syllabus multiple times before prelims, and still falls short of writing mains

๐Ÿ‘‰If you are someone who has given multiple attempts and now finds reading standard textbooks boring

๐Ÿ‘‰If your negatives are consistently high in prelims or in mocks

Then my dear friends, Following 6 min video is for you. You need to practise better this time. ๐Ÿ‘‡

To those who couldn't make it to the PT this time and are confident in prelims

Please utilize next 1/1.5 months (as per your prelims comfort) in consolidation of the content. Take your content to the next level. You may

a) Prepare short notes on imp topics

b) Do value enrichment to the most important themes (adding diagrams, case studies, examples, preparing fact sheet at one place, making list great anecdotes for essay etc

c) Prepare the weak topics/section/paper from your optional & GS. It may be society or internal security or governance or any topic from optional etc

You will be in great position after prelims if you can just devote your time for answer writing and revision till mains, instead of preparing content at that time. It will allow you the requisite time to learn, improve and imbibe the answer writing insticits. Kai baar improvement ane me samay lagta hai. Don't do answer writing now at the expense of content improvement. Anyway you will loose the momentum when prelims preparation kicks in.

Baki, if you are not comfortable with prelims, dont take it lightly. (however do prepare some mains part simultaneously)

Dear students what are the ethical issues in this?

PS. Role of Educational institutions in inculcation of values is a very important topic in your syllabus. Current examples will add weight to your arguments and critical analysis.

Japan recently witnessed an Earthquake of 7.6 magnitude which led to nearly 50 deaths in the country.

However do you know that Turkey also witnessed the earthquake of similar magnitude (7.8) however the death toll was over 50000.

Dear students, this a great case study for disaster management, proactive action and leadership. It may also be used as an anecdote in essays like "Time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining"

Do you feel being busy throughout the day and still make little progress?

Dear students, how often we feel ki Poora din nikal gaya aur kuch bhi nahi hua... Why does it happen?

It happens because we don't plan our day. So when we wake up, we have little idea about what we are going to do. We start deciding on an adhoc basis throughout the day.

The Result?

We experience decision fatigue because we have a limited amount of willpower every day. With each decision we make that willpower gets depleted. It makes us loose our focus and we become vulnerable to distraction.  Thus we waste our willpower on deciding what our essential priorities are than on having razor sharp focus and pushing our boundaries.

What should be done?

By planning our days the night before we reduce decision fatigue, and preserve our willpower for our deepest most meaningful work.  Please write down 5 most important things that you will do next day before going to bed. Make sure that these 5 things are as speficic as they can be. For example, Parliament chapter or rivers tributaries instead of Polity _4 hr or Geography - 5 hr. So when you wake up next morning, start striking off your targets one by one. It will not just give you satisfaction and boost your confidence but also help you monitor your progress as what gets measured gets done.

When you attempt prelims multiple times and unfortunately have to appear again, one of the main challenge is to read the same books again.

Since one has already read the books multiple times, not just one finds it boring, one is also prone to merely reading/passive revision as the brain will not consciously register/recall the information but simply try to recognize it.

Consequently this will hurt him/her as s/he would be under the impression that the revision is done but Yaad Nahi ayega exam me>leading to many negatives as your ego will not allow you to leave the question given the number of times you have read it.

But should be done then?

Friends, you need to move towards active revision by solving tons of MCQs. You may not read much before the test as it might have poor efficiency. Instead, you may attempt the MCQs, mark the topics which you find challenging, and revise those topics immediately after the test. Your brain will be much more active now and revise very efficiently because it has been probed on those topics.

Only caution is, you need to have a disciplined attempt of tons of MCQs to have sufficient coverage.

Also, you can use this to develop your own test taking startegy (how many questions to attempt, how to choose between 50:50 questions, which type of questions fetch you more negatives?.)

SHATAK plus prog provides a platform for you to

๐ŸŽฏ Solve 50 Q daily for 5 Days a Week, for 10 weeks followed by an enriched discussion - Write Daily, Actively Revise Daily and Improve Daily

๐ŸŽฏ 10 weekly sectional revision test of 100 Q - Develop your test taking strategy

๐ŸŽฏ 8 Full Length Tests (100Q) followed by an All India Simulator.

You will be solving about 4400 GS MCQs covering all the major themes.
