•यह राप्ती नदी से निर्मित बारहमासी गोखुर झील/बाढ़-मैदानी आर्द्रभूमि है और घाघरा–राप्ती जलोढ़ तंत्र का हिस्सा है।
•रामसर स्थल: 2022।

•Researchers reconstructed nearly 25,000 years of Indian Summer Monsoon variability using magnetic minerals in sediments beneath Bakhira Lake, Uttar Pradesh.
•It is a perennial oxbow/floodplain wetland formed by the Rapti River and part of the Ghaghara–Rapti alluvial system.
•Ramsar Site: 2022.
