The Harms of Disclosing Secrets
The harms of disclosing secrets may be summarised in the following points:
1. Disclosing a secret is a betrayal of trust and a breach of covenant.
2. Disclosing a secret causes harm to the one whose secret is revealed.
3. Disclosing a secret is a sign of base character and corrupted honour.
4. Disclosing a secret indicates impatience and narrowness of heart.
5. Disclosing a secret brings about regret and sorrow in the one who reveals it.
6. Disclosing a secret undermines honour, ruins friendship, and leads to discord.
7. For a man to disclose his wife’s secrets, or a woman to disclose her husband’s secrets, places both in the position of devils and violates the virtue of modesty.
8. Disclosing a secret is idle speech for which its speaker is blamed.
9. Disclosing a secret destroys the trust between the confidant and the one who betrays it, for the one who entrusted the secret knows that he will be betrayed in turn.
10. Disclosing a secret is an attribute of ignorance, whereas guarding it is the mark of the wise.
11. Disclosing a secret brings humiliation.
12. Disclosing a secret brings disgrace to the betrayer when the one who entrusted him learns of it.
13. Disclosing a secret—especially one pertaining to the deceased—exposes its betrayer to the punishment of Allāh, Exalted is He.
14. The one who discloses secrets is among the worst of people.
15. Disclosing a secret leads to the Fire in the Hereafter, and brings regret and sorrow in this world.

Translation📖 :
Advice to those going out Da'wah
Advice to those going out Da'wah
In the name of Allāh, and may blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allāh, upon his family, his companions, and those who follow his guidance.
To proceed:
O chosen ones, O virtuous men whom Allāh Almighty has selected for a great mission and a lofty duty — namely, going forth to call others to Allāh Almighty — we wished to join you in your endeavour. And though we were not able to accompany you in body, we share with you these words, hoping for their reward with Allāh Almighty, and that they may serve as an encouragement for our brothers and beloved ones, whom we pray will be keys to goodness and locks against evil. May this Da'wah for which you have set out be accepted and answered, so that the message of truth may spread across the earth. For you are chosen, and upon the path of your Prophet you tread — so be grateful to Allāh Almighty for this.
We also wished to share with you some divine insights that Allāh Almighty has opened to us in matters of importance, which we believe it is of benefit to present before you.
Among these is that such an undertaking is the very path of the Prophets and Messengers, as is well known to your noble knowledge. For Allāh Almighty has said: “We sent to every nation a messenger [saying]: Worship Allāh and shun false deities.”
Thus, by your going forth, you embody this Āyah and others similar to it in meaning, carrying within them this great purpose.
Beloved brothers, we also heard today in the sermon delivered by our noble brother Abu Ishaq — may Allāh preserve him — the words of Luqman to his son: “O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and bear patiently whatever befalls you. Indeed, that is of the matters requiring resolve.”
Reflect upon this Āyah, for you are now in that very station. Enjoining good and forbidding evil is the essence of the Da‘wah, and every caller must be upon clarity in what he invites to, and in what he warns against. You will encounter people of varied natures: some will accept, and others will reject outright. Therefore, you must be patient in your Da'wah and adorned with wisdom in abundance.
And remember Allāh Almighty often. For He, Exalted is He, tells of His Prophet Mūsā (peace be upon him), when he sought his brother Hārūn to be his supporter and partner in calling Fir’awn to Allāh Almighty: “And include him in my task, that we may glorify You much, and remember You much, for You are ever seeing of us.”
One of the greatest purposes of going forth in a group is that you may assist one another in remembering Allāh Almighty. This was the very way of our teachers and those who preceded us in knowledge, who would set out, recalling Āyāt of the Book of Allāh, the sayings of the Messenger of Allāh, and points of knowledge. You should do likewise.
It is permissible to take rest, but do not let idle talk and laughter overcome you. For you are the cream of society, and you are the ones from whom goodness is most hoped for, by the grace of Allāh Almighty, in this land. Know that by your going forth, closed doors may be opened, so supplicate often to Allāh Almighty for that.
As for the masājid and lodgings in which you descend, we ask Allāh Almighty to illuminate them through your presence and your Da’wah — to Tawheed and to the way of the Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings be upon him).
Recall that you are in a noble station, and that such outings for the purpose of calling to Allāh have an impact on the communities you encounter, whether positive or negative. If they see good from you — and this is what is hoped — their hearts will naturally incline, for a true believer benefits from exhortation and remembrance, as Allāh Almighty has said: “So remind, for indeed the reminder benefits the believers” and “So remind, if the reminder benefits; he who fears will remember.”

Many scholars have noted that when the reminder is received and accepted, its effect endures. This is what we hope for in the masājids and lodgings you enter: that those who hear your call will accept it, for this is the way of the sound-hearted believer, as Allāh Almighty has said: “He who fears will remember.”
And know that the Da’wah is not confined to masājid. If you find opportunity in the streets, in places of gathering, or in the lodgings where you stay, then seize it, and let it be purely for Allāh Almighty and in devotion to Him. It may be that Allāh Almighty accepts your Da‘wah and makes it a source of benefit for others.
Brothers and beloved ones, among the essential matters upon every caller is that his words be sincerely for Allāh Alone, truthful and pure, and that he acts upon what he calls others to. As Allāh Almighty has said: “And who is better in speech than one who calls to Allāh, acts righteously, and says, ‘Indeed, I am of the Muslims.’”
It was from the practice of our Prophet (peace be upon him) that even while travelling he did not abandon the two rak‘ahs before dawn prayer, nor the witr prayer. So hold fast to these acts of devotion, strive in them, and be examples therein both in word and in deed. This is what makes clear the vast difference between the sincere callers of the people of the Sunnah and others whose aim is wealth, prestige, or fleeting worldly gain — things of no value with Allāh Almighty.
We also remind ourselves that in such outings there should be an appointed leader, whose commands you follow and whose prohibitions — when in accordance with truth. In this you follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in travel and expedition.
And we remind ourselves likewise that words should be ordered, purposeful, and explanatory of our call.
By Allāh, you are engaged in a tremendous good for which others will have ghibṭah for you (happiness for someone else's success without envy), and it is incumbent upon all who cannot accompany you to support you with supplication: that Allāh grant you victory and aid you. For indeed, you are upon a mighty good.
And may Allāh preserve you: avoid the causes of division, discord, and disputes. For Shayṭān is diligently striving — without doubt or uncertainty — that this journey of calling to Allāh not be successful. His eagerness to sow rancor in hearts and to incite hostility is well known, as is established in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim from the narration of Jābir (may Allāh be pleased with him): “Shayṭān has despaired of being worshipped by those who pray in the Arabian Peninsula, but he seeks to incite discord among them.” Thus, he provokes one against another, narrowing the hearts. So seek refuge in Allāh from his evil, and increase in your recitation of the Qur'ān and in your prescribed invocations of morning and evening remembrance.
And know, my brothers in Allāh and my beloved ones, that societies have become deeply immersed in worldly matters, carried away by them, and thus plunged into the abysses of ruin. Yet you, through what you spread of the Qur'ān, the Sunnah, and the true Salafi way, are like physicians treating diseased hearts, or like one casting a lifeline to a drowning man. Realise, then, that you are engaged in a mighty good for which you are to be envied.
I apologise for not accompanying you on this occasion, and this was only due to considerations and reflection regarding matters of teaching, learning, and the responsibilities upon me. Otherwise, how greatly I longed to share in this good with you. I pray that Allāh Almighty will grant me reward for what I intended.
This is what I wished to remind you of, from what came to mind of the openings that Allāh Almighty granted us. May Allāh protect you, bless you, increase you from His bounty, and support you with His victory. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
