Algae in architecture, EcoLogicStudio
The concept of "algae in architecture" is appealing due to its ecological component and simplicity of implementation. Unlike vertical gardens, the "biofacade" does not require complex load-bearing structures.
The ideas are borrowed from nature itself: algae perform photosynthesis, purify water, and serve as the basis for biofuel. Algae not only release oxygen into the atmosphere but also sequester carbon. The carbon sequestration method has been approved by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as one of the safest methods to combat global warming.
The byproduct of carbon sequestration in the curtain is biomass, which can be burned for energy or transformed into bioplastic. For example, the curtain itself can be made from such bioplastic.

Light-transmitting concrete is a combination of a fine-grained cementitious mass with small optical fiber threads or tubes that are commonly used in telecommunication networks. If the proportion of these fibers does not exceed 5% of the total mass, the material properties remain comparable to lightweight concrete, without significant loss in strength and durability.
The "transparency" of the material is not dependent on its thickness, as the optical fibers allow the passage of light along the fibers with minimal losses (up to 20 meters).
