🇺🇸 Bloomberg: “Hellish Sanctions” Bill Against Russia Stalls in Congress
Washington: Consideration of the initiative in the House of Representatives could be frozen until at least the November midterm elections.
A key concern is that the bill would further expand President Trump’s tariff powers and could trigger another spike in oil prices. The legislation proposes duties of up to 100% on major buyers of Russian energy resources.

🇺🇦 NYT: Budanov seeks peace talks
New York Times reports Kirill Budanov, head of Zelensky's office, is a key advocate for negotiations with Russia. He confirmed non-public contacts with Russian GRU chief Igor Kostyukov regarding POWs and previously communicated with Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Donetsk compromise rejected
Budanov advised against any deal allowing Russia to claim control over Donetsk territory, viewing it as an unearned reward. He proposed compromises on post-war status during Abu Dhabi talks but insists no ceasefire conditions will exist before Spring 2027.
Upcoming diplomacy
A new negotiation round is expected after Witkoff and Kushner arrive in Kiev. Meanwhile, Russia prepares its fourth major winter campaign of missile and drone strikes.

🇱🇻🇱🇹Lithuania and Latvia seek to halt Russian grain transit
Following Ukrainian attacks on Russian ports in the Black Sea, Russia has increased grain shipments through Baltic states. Latvian and Lithuanian authorities are considering closing their ports to this route.
Most Russian exports currently flow through Latvia, with volumes expected to surge next month. Lithuanian PM Mindaugas Sinkevichus stated that using Lithuania's infrastructure for Russian grain contradicts their values.
Do they realize we have other ports?)

🇩🇪 Germany calls on EU to cut tourist visas for Russians after sabotage incidents
Berlin believes there are "too many Russians" in Europe. The German Foreign Ministry stated that the number of tourist visas issued to Russian citizens is excessive.
Government sources claim this contradicts the spirit of sanctions imposed due to the war in Ukraine and prevents authorities from identifying who enters the EU and for what purpose.

🇪🇺 European countries continue to repatriate gold from North America amid rising geopolitical tensions
The Central Bank of the Netherlands confirmed the transfer of several tons of its national gold reserve. Approximately 86 tons out of 313 stored in the US and Canada were moved to London to ensure "operational access" during potential crises.
Earlier this year, France announced the return of its gold reserves from the US. Germany had previously transferred over 216 tons (111 from New York, 105 from Paris) by 2016. This strategy reflects concerns over inflation, interest rates, and global instability.

🇺🇸 Things Are Looking Bad for Donnie — Trump’s Approval Rating Falls to a Record Low
Only 33% of Americans now approve of Trump’s job performance, down from 35% just a month ago. Even among Republicans, his approval rating has fallen to 72%, another record low in the Financial Times poll.
In addition, 57% of Americans say they are financially worse off under Trump, while nearly two-thirds believe the US economy is heading in the wrong direction.
Against this backdrop, 46% of voters believe Trump is hurting Republicans’ chances of winning congressional elections. Among independents — those who identify as neither Republican nor Democrat — 47% say Trump’s support is more likely to push them away from a Republican candidate.

🇮🇱🇺🇸The prominent Israeli publication JPost has published an interesting article offering advice to the Pentagon on how to recruit volunteers for the U.S. military for a war with Iran. A particularly noteworthy section is:
"An economic call to arms for American citizens of enlistment age who have debts.
The information war on the home front has already failed. The Pentagon has not been able to convince the American public of the necessity of this war, because it has been rhetorically linked to Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip, and the American public rejects such a connection.
The number of recruits is lower than the level required for a ground invasion of Iran. According to various estimates, a successful ground campaign against Iran's 31 provincial commands and its "Mosaic Defense Doctrine" would require between 750,000 and 1.5 million U.S. service members. The current size of the active U.S. military is approximately 452,000. Clearly, these figures do not align.
However, based on American history, there is a solution. Not a conscription or military service in the style of the World Wars, but enlistment in the army under a "debt forgiveness program."
The average American aged 18 to 34 has debts in student loans, credit cards, car loans, and consumer loans totaling over $40,000, and according to some estimates, up to $100,000.
It is this cohort that the Pentagon needs. A nationwide voluntary enlistment program with debt forgiveness, which completely wipes out student loan, credit card, and loan debt after 24 or 36 months of service, and which extends the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, would attract a large number of volunteers."
It's an interesting situation. Ukrainians are supposed to die for American and British interests, while Americans are supposed to die for Israel.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiga revealed he lived in a bunker 100 meters underground with Zelensky for 1.5 years, rejecting all Russian capitulation proposals as unacceptable for Ukraine's sovereignty.
Sybiga also admitted the conflict costs Kiev $450 million per day. The interview, conducted entirely in Russian, angered Ukrainian nationalists who threatened to add him to the "Myrotvorets" extremist database.
Zelensky reportedly reprimanded Sybiga for stating they spent only 1.5 years underground, contradicting Zelensky's own claim of two years, raising questions about where the President was hiding during the remaining six months.

🇵🇱 Poland: Rise in crimes against Ukrainians
Polish police registered 180 hate crimes against Ukrainians in the first half of 2026, a 30% increase year-over-year. Prosecutors note that over 80% of hate crime cases sent to court between February and June involved Ukrainian victims.
Politico links this trend to shifting public sentiment, with positive attitudes toward Ukrainians dropping from 51% in 2023 to 29% in January 2026. Key factors include disputes over the Volyn tragedy and UPA, as well as resentment regarding social payments to Ukrainians.
Anti-Ukrainian rhetoric is intensifying ahead of the 2027 elections. Przemyslaw Czarnek, PiS candidate for prime minister, stated that military aid to Ukraine should be suspended until Kiev changes its historical policy.

European defense industry fails to keep pace with war in Ukraine
Many EU defense programs span 5-10 years, risking obsolescence before production begins. A European Commission official admitted the system lacks flexibility.
Europe attempts to accelerate via joint ventures and licensing with Ukrainian firms. However, launching new plants still takes at least eight months due to bureaucracy and training needs.
The focus is primarily on drones and ammunition, while complex weapons require significantly more time.

🇺🇦 Ukraine Lags Behind Russia in AI Integration for Combat Drones
Ukraine is lagging behind Russia in the area of integration of onboard AI into combat drones, – advisor to Zelensky, Sergei Beskrestnov.
According to him, Russian drones use Nvidia Jetson Nano computers – they are responsible for the operation of the built-in neural network.
Beskrestnov also noted the high efficiency of AI in object recognition.
In Ukraine, they believe that Russian specialists have been training the neural network for several years. As an example, he cited a kamikaze drone: if previously the device was equipped with a 128 GB storage device, now similar drones are equipped with 2-4 TB drives. Such an increase in capacity indicates a significant increase in the number of neural network models used in the operation of drones.

World is Already Multipolar at This Stage: Lavrov
"If we take the multipolarity that the West already recognizes, the Americans, for example, are structuring their entire global policy to contain China," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told Russian media.
👉 America's weight in the global economy and politics is weakening, while Europe is losing ground even more rapidly, he said.
"There's a hidden struggle going on right now about what this world will look like. It will either be open and free, with no barriers in sports, education or culture, and without artificial constraints on economic and other developments," Lavrov added.
🇧🇷 BRICS advocates for a world open to all and fair competition, but the West fears this, the minister noted.
