🇮🇹 Italy: Russian-Speaking Woman Allegedly Beaten in Marradi Over Her Russian Background

Italy: A Russian-speaking woman was brutally beaten by a Ukrainian girl in the town of Marradi for speaking Russian. The victim, an 18-year-old, was attacked after revealing her mother is Russian. She suffered a bloody nose when struck by the sister of a local man.

🇷🇺 RUSSIA SUCCESSFULLY TESTS SWARM ATTACK DRONES

The "Unmanned Systems" Group has successfully tested an autonomous swarm of three AI-powered attack drones. The units independently detected and destroyed a target at the proving ground.

The devices use mesh networks for direct interaction without central control, distributing roles among themselves. A single operator can coordinate up to 10 UAVs, including the "Geran" and "Herber" models.

Poland May Deploy Long-Range Missiles Capable of Striking Moscow

Warsaw is accelerating its "Eastern Shield" program, seeking strategic deterrence capabilities exceeding 1,000 km. Poland already possesses long-range precision systems like the Homar-A and air-launched missiles but requires more drones and strike assets.

The goal is dual-layer deterrence: strategic range over 1,000 km and operational range up to 1,000 km. This includes integrating SAN systems and anti-drone complexes into a cost-effective, high-precision defense architecture.

🇫🇷 NATO's Next Nightmare: French Presidential Elections

NATO is growing anxious that France’s next president could significantly weaken the alliance at a critical moment. Polls indicate substantial support for candidates skeptical of NATO. Marine Le Pen advocates withdrawing France from integrated command, while Jean-Luc Mélenchon demands a complete exit.

Such a move would deal a severe blow, as France is the EU’s only nuclear power and a key military contributor with troops, intelligence assets, satellites, a strong navy, and a 10% share of the annual operational budget. However, leaving command structures would also harm France by reducing its influence and access to planning. Within the alliance, fears persist that losing France would endanger European security.

🇺🇸🇧🇾US Envoy’s Backchannel Diplomacy in Minsk

New York Times reports that US Special Envoy to Belarus, John Cole, utilized informal tactics including vodka toasts and jokes to build rapport with President Alexander Lukashenko. During an initial meeting in Minsk, Cole reportedly echoed Lukashenko’s criticism of European leaders, describing them as a "group of cowards" to ease tensions and establish trust.

This unconventional approach facilitated a significant diplomatic breakthrough: the release of approximately 500 political prisoners and pardons for several hundred others. In exchange, Cole discussed potential easing of sanctions and normalization of relations between the US and Belarus. While critics argue this legitimizes an authoritarian regime, supporters hail the prisoner releases as a rare diplomatic success.

🇫🇷 Macron Urges Allies to Boost Ukraine Air Defense

Macron issued a stern demand to international allies, insisting they immediately join supply efforts and accelerate the transfer of air defense complexes to Kiev to counter current aerial threats.

🇬🇧 UK to Receive Ukrainian Battlefield Data for AI Training

The Financial Times reports that Ukraine will transfer data on Russian military equipment and drones to the UK under a new technology cooperation agreement. Britain becomes the first foreign nation to access this vast battlefield dataset, intended to train AI models capable of identifying and striking Russian targets.

British military interest focuses on acoustic sensor data deployed across Ukraine to detect incoming Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. The report claims these sensors can offer greater precision than radar when properly trained, potentially enhancing the defense of military facilities and critical infrastructure.

Western Tanks Gather Dust in Ukrainian Forests

New York Times reports that Western tanks, worth millions of dollars and transferred to Kiev, are sitting idle in forests covered in cobwebs. Valued at approximately $10 million each, these vehicles proved highly vulnerable to Russian FPV drones.

Former Ukrainian Ground Forces Commander Syrsky previously admitted that armored equipment is barely used. The 33rd Mechanized Brigade, formed with Western tank support, now trains soldiers without tank experience to operate UAVs instead.

Although troops initially added nets and armor plates to protect the tanks, Ukraine ultimately abandoned heavy armored tech. Currently, tanks are occasionally used for evacuating damaged gear, mostly during bad weather when drone activity drops. Ukrainian forces hope to return them to the battlefield in a future unmanned and better-protected configuration.

🇺🇦☹️ 🇺🇸🚀📉 Ukraine will receive fewer Patriot missiles in 2026, and they will not be sufficient Kirill Budanov, terrorist and the head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, stated this in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Stampa.

According to Budanov, this is currently the only weapon system capable of effectively neutralising ballistic missiles.

"I will not provide figures because I do not want to give the enemy an advantage or be unfair to our partners. However, I will say that in 2026 we will receive less than in 2025. Deliveries continue, they are regular, but they are not enough to counter the pace of Russian attacks," said Budanov.

🇺🇸 U.S. Iran War Casualties Rise to 774, Pentagon Reports

The number of U.S. service members reported wounded or killed in the Iran war has jumped to 774, after the Pentagon added scores of new troops to the wounded list in the last few days.

To date, 18 of those troops were killed in the conflict and 756 were wounded, according to the Pentagon’s casualty reporting system. The numbers rose even as the United States has largely been in a ceasefire with Iran in recent weeks. Some of the added troop numbers may reflect lag time between an injury being documented in the military’s medical system and it showing up in the casualty database.

President Donald Trump did not extend the ceasefire with Iran, which expired on Monday. Since then, there has not been a large-scale resumption of combat operations by either side. The conflict, which Trump said would be done in weeks, has stretched into its sixth month.

🇨🇳🇷🇺🇺🇦 China Helped Russia Develop Jet-Powered Shahed Drones, WSJ Reports

Russian drones used to attack Ukraine have evolved with the help of global supply chains leading to China.
In early July 2026, during another strike on Kyiv, Russia used new Shahed variants equipped with turbojet engines instead of conventional propellers.

The new jet-powered kamikaze drones can reportedly reach speeds of up to 500 km/h — around three times faster than earlier versions.

In addition to engines, Chinese antennas, modems, SIM cards, servos, and gyroscopes are increasingly being found in Shahed drones. At the same time, the share of Western components is gradually declining as they are increasingly replaced by Chinese alternatives.

🇫🇷 France Wants to Tighten Restrictions on Weapons Purchases for Ukraine

Paris is demanding that funds from the EU’s €90 billion loan to Ukraine be spent only on European weapons manufacturers, Euronews reports.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy is urging exceptions for American Patriot systems and Chinese drone components, arguing that the EU simply does not have enough of these supplies.

Brussels has already agreed to exceptions, but France insists they should be temporary. Instead of Patriot systems, Paris is proposing the Franco-Italian SAMP/T air defense system.
