What was the secret sauce behind my visit to the USA? - Part I
In early fall, I got a call from a stranger asking if it was "Ozodbek." I said "Yes," not recognizing his identity and purpose. He briefly told me about himself by referencing the state org I volunteered at earlier this year. He was an individual with disabilities and worked at a disability NGO in the capital. He was searching for a seasoned translator to help with English-Uzbek interpretation and vice-versa in the USA. I felt outright shock upon receiving this offer right after my ielts exam since I was already inundated by thoughts of my awful exam performance at the very moment. I still took a long breath, letting all anger and stress fade away. And I just carried on the chat - but after a while, I presumed that it would be just another casual convo that would go nowhere beyond "We will call you later." Yet, in the end, he offered an onsite talk to cover anything at play. Once we met up sooner, I found out that this year's program theme was disability empowerment. He was already in the Uzbekistan delegation in the IVLP program with disability rights activists, film producers, social media influencers, and sign-language interpreters - to whom I'll devote an entire chapter in my impending writings. I eventually dared not to say "No" [who actually would?] After our talks, I later got emails from the staff of the US Embassy in Uzbekistan and proceeded with follow-ups.

I still recall this exact moment when we were ordering food in Evos and all of a sudden, you are gone to outside holding a phone with a shocking, face. i am confused. looking at you, i notice the gentle smile gradually stretching across your face and your eyebrows were raised. “brat, US fully-funded trip offer qilishvoti” - the first sentence that caught all my attention and made me say “let’s goooo”.

NYUAD Triple Rejections
I applied to NYU Abu Dhabi with big hopes, putting thoughts of last year's rejection aside. I assumed I was a perfect fit this time in all ways possible. I waited long for an invitation back in Philly. Even when all results were sent out, I was desperately refreshing my email. I convinced myself that they might send emails in batches. Yet, as it eventually turned out, nothing tangible I managed to receive.
I deliberately shared my fresh rejection: I also suck at some point; I also lose and suffer my loss. But, we're yet to come back. I hope my lads bring me joy with loud bangers.

Since i gained 1,400 followers on Linkedin, I'll try to share more posts of my experiences and "beautify" my Linkedin page with tons of buzz humble details.
Hopefully, one day we'll get to add a university to a higher education section.
I still hate LinkedIn. there is so much superficiality, pretentiousness, and conformity within it. however, it's where you can connect with top university students, researchers, professors, etc. it's where you can find so many opportunities.
After all, having a LinkedIn page won't hurt. It'll serve as a resume for your professional and academic experiences.

Jamshidbek and I started preparing for college admissions together after meeting up at Bon a few times. We exchanged tons of admissions resources, did peer-to-peer tutoring, analyzed writing books, and shared feedback on one another's essays, etc. Ever since he applied to Vanderbilt, I always joked during our night walks, saying "bo’ldi bro siz uji Vandyga kirdiz." He would often tell me if I really believed that he would get in or if I was just trying to tease him. In the very beginning, I recited such jokes out of fun, but later we both started believing in what we were casually joking about each day. I had told our Ivy Materials group that one of us would end up with a university through Early Decision, and it turned out to be Jamshidbek. I'm really glad that he made it to the university he wanted.
No cap – but he stands for a T in trustworthy, an O in observant, a P in persevering, and a G in grateful. In a nutshell, my man is a real Top G.
He very recently shared his reaction video (yes, something we’re obsessed with watching) on his admission to Vanderbilt. I genuinely felt goosebumps, witnessing the remarkable feat he nailed.

My Inspiration from Franz Kafka
He woke up late this morning. He focused his eyes as sharply as possible on the window, but the prospect of the morning fog, which muffled even the apartment building in front, brought him little comfort. He rushed to leave his untidy home as soon as possible. Under the overcast sky, he was desperately running through the street to the station. He was getting late for the train at 8:15 a.m. He glanced at his silver handwatch and noticed the minute hand just past a quarter to 8 a.m. He ceased, shut his eyes, and cried, “Oh God,” since he had forgotten his umbrella at home. It suddenly started to pour with rain. Raindrops beating on his head made a cold shiver run through him. All of his morning delusions had already fallen away. He didn’t want to give her a hug with his wet coat when he met her, but he was already pressed for time to go back home and get an umbrella. At length, he barely reached the station before the train had just set off. Inside, he sat on a compact seat quietly reading The Washington Post newspaper he had purchased yesterday for $4 from 7-Eleven. From time to time, he looked through railway timetables hung above the table to make sure he would meet her on time. Though early misfortunes had already absorbed most of his energy, he felt great amusement reminiscing about last year’s night walks with her. They had spent five to six evenings together. She enjoyed telling stories she had read from books on a bookshelf in a small coffee shop where she worked. Meanwhile, he enjoyed looking into her eyes and seeing the reflection of the full moon within them in the middle of an arch bridge. For a moment, he recalled tearing his house door open. He couldn’t remember the sound of its closing again. He started to worry since only in houses where some great misfortune had happened would one leave the home door wide open. He still exhaled a deep breath, hoped it was mere happenstance, and dived into his sweet thoughts of her beautiful smile, wide eyes, and red lips again.
