CENTCOM:

Earlier today, CENTCOM forces disabled the steering gear of Panama-flagged M/V Vela Nova as the cargo vessel attempted to transit the Gulf of Oman and violate the U.S. blockade against Iran by sailing toward an Iranian port.

A U.S. Navy MH-60 helicopter fired two hellfire missiles into the Vela Nova’s engine room after the ship’s civilian crew ignored repeated warnings from American forces. The ship is no longer transiting to Iran in violation of the U.S. blockade, which remains in full effect.

As of Aug. 11, CENTCOM has redirected 55 commercial vessels attempting to run the blockade, disabled 3 non-compliant vessels, and boarded 2.

U.S. forces operating in the Middle East are highly vigilant, lethal, and ready.

The U.S. blockade of Iran has now been in place for a combined 96 days.

First blockade: April 13 to June 18, 67 days

Blockade lifted: June 18 to July 14, roughly 26 days

Current blockade: July 14 to August 11, 29 days

Total: 96 days under blockade so far.

NYT Report: About 50 Patriot interceptors were fired by the U.S. across the Middle East in a single day, each costing roughly $4 million. An expert cited in the report said Trump assumed the war would be short and would not jeopardize U.S. Patriot interceptor stockpiles.

Israel is entering a new “robotic age” in warfare, accelerating lessons learned from Gaza and Lebanon, where tens of thousands of unmanned and remotely operated systems have already been deployed.

Under the IDF’s 2026 to 2030 Hoshen Plan, robotics, AI and autonomous systems will become central to force building across land, air and sea. The IDF is also establishing dedicated structures for robotics and autonomous warfare.

Over the next decade, Israel plans to expand robotic systems for tunnel operations, reconnaissance, logistics, route clearance and combat. Older armored vehicles are also being converted into remotely operated platforms, while drone and ground robot swarms are being developed.

The longer term goal is mixed human machine formations, with robotic systems moving ahead of soldiers and taking on the most dangerous battlefield missions while humans retain oversight of lethal decisions.
