“A Continuous Curve”

The phrase “an actor blessed by God” is widely known, yet its interpretation can vary on different levels. This essay is dedicated to exploring the psychological and physical transformations that occur in the nature of an Actor after years of work on stage.

By creating a character, changing their appearance, mindset, and emotional structure, an Actor (speaking of truly gifted ones) gives life to a new being, a new person not born in the usual way. This being continues to live on in the memories of the audience and other energetic realms even after the performance ends. Thus, by introducing a new person into the world, the Actor assumes a god-like role, a complex notion that raises questions within both religious and social institutions.

On the other hand, the Actor—as a medium of divine forces—is a fully religious figure, whose task, even to this day, is to demonstrate the might of the Almighty, who grants him (the Actor) the ability to be someone other than who he was born to be. This question demands a separate and very serious study.

Our objective is different.
The impact of played and danced roles on the Actor’s psyche eventually leads to serious mental disturbances from an everyday perspective. The Actor begins to lose track of which reality is real and which is fictional, often slipping into an uncontrolled state of performance. He exists and speaks on behalf of the characters he has played, further affirming the theory that brilliantly crafted personas do not leave the world or the Actor’s body. Consequently, he often lives someone else’s life, neglecting his own time given to him by God.

As a result, from a physical standpoint, many processes in his real body slow down, altering his appearance and psyche. This multilayered consciousness (the fragmentation of personality) often leads to a self-worship, severing his connection with social life. Yet, this makes him even more susceptible to “higher” forces, and his performance becomes more refined. Ideally, he is no longer merely a person but a “super marionette,” easily attuned to celestial vibrations. Unfortunately, commands coming “from above” and, conversely, the so-called “voices” (the reflection of forbidden desires) begin to substitute for and merge with each other, and the brilliant Actor can easily become a dangerous social element, a criminal, a maniac, and so on. If remnants of consciousness still manage to control the danger of these commands and voices, the Actor often subdues himself with alcohol or drugs.

But in any case, the figure of a person living in this liminal state is deeply captivating. It is as awe-inspiring as watching a solar eclipse together in a warm embrace.
