Гарри Тан: Я только закончил учебу в 2003 году, и мои друзья вместе с Питером Тилем, создателем PayPal, основали компанию. Они пригласили меня пообедать с Питером, я вылетел в Калифорнию.
Он посмотрел на меня и сказал: «Гарри, что ты делаешь в Microsoft? Ты зря теряешь время». Имейте в виду, мне было 23 года. Я ничего не знал о финансах, я ничего не знал о стартапах и определенно не знал, с какой стороны всё это начинать.
Он сказал: «Гарри, уверен, мое дело больше тебе подойдет. Но тебе нужно бросить свою работу прямо сейчас».
Тиль спросил меня: «Сколько ты за год зарабатываешь в Microsoft?»
Моя зарплата была 72 тысячи долларов в год. Сумма не очень большая, но казалась мне вполне достойной, поскольку я начал работать там сразу после окончания колледжа. Питер достал чековую книжку и выписал мне чек на эту сумму.
«Обналичьте этот чек, уволитесь с работы. Это возможность с нулевым риском».
Я сказал: «Большое спасибо, мистер Тиль, но в следующем году меня могут повысить до 60-го уровня».
Большая ошибка. Эта ошибка стоила мне как минимум 200 миллионов долларов капитала. Palantir, в котором я тогда должен был стать одним из основателей и получить часть пакета, теперь стоит больше $45 млрд.
Позже я стал у них сотрудником №10.

🔹Стресс не закаляет. Чем больше в жизни стресса, тем хуже мы с ним справляемся, и тем больше страдает организм.
🔹В том, что женщины чувствительнее к стрессу, чем мужчины, скорее всего виноват окситоцин — гормон «любви и привязанности».
🔹При стрессе организм ослабляет иммунитет, но исключительно из лучших побуждений: чтобы предотвратить сильные воспаления в случае травмы.
🔹Стресс мешает строить планы, потому что нарушает работу памяти на будущее — да, есть и такая.

They decided to solve this and want to shift the burden of these steps on to software, making it easier for a user to build their second brain.
Synth is targeting 30 million knowledge workers, who earn more than $100k, paying us $20 per month, presenting a $7.2billion market opportunity.
