CotD 14.10.25: Once again, fares are set to raise again by at least (do not be fooled by media headlines!) 10 cents this coming December. Shockingly, fares for express bus services will be increased by a staggering 50 cents, ahead of further launches of more City Direct services under the BCEP that run on this fare scheme. It is catastrophically ironic how, by raising the fare of the very City Directs upon which LTA and MOT are basing their entire bus planning strategy upon, that they destroy the very foundation of ridership and support for their latest initiatives. Who on earth is going to ride a bus costing almost $4 one way? So much for attempted relief of overcongested rail lines.

CotD 20.10.25: Earlier this weekend LTA announced making rides on the NEL entirely free during peak fringe periods, in a last-ditch attempt to flatten the peak ridership curve. One can really smell the desperation here, considering how NEL-alternative bus services were already being discounted as much as 80% under previous TSJ 2.0 schemes.
