i said i'd share it when it's done. or when i give up. i didn't give up. π here's the Meri Podcast logo redesign nobody asked me for. is it perfect? no. does it feel a little generic? yes and i am at peace with that. but it's not a spatula anymore and that'sβ¦
remember when i redesigned the Meri Podcast logo a while back?
yeah the visuals that came with it were a bit whack. i'll be honest. π
so i redid them.
same logo. completely new visual direction. and i think this time i actually cooked. still unsolicited. still unprompted. still just a designer who can't leave things alone.
it is posted on LINKED IN go check it out there and lets connect

As part of our BASA Spotlight series, we are proud to feature one of the two Best Thesis Award-winning projects by Rehima Ahmed
π Title: Re-Envisioning the Abay River Bridge to Enhance HumanβNature Connectivity: The Case of Bahir Dar City, Ethiopia
Inspired by the concept "Ribbons of Life β A Living Bridge," this project transforms the Abay River Bridge from a transportation corridor into a vibrant ecological and public destination. By reimagining the underutilized spaces beneath the bridge as a multifunctional biophilic park, the design strengthens the connection between people, nature, and the urban environment while promoting recreation, sustainability, and community life.
π Congratulations to Rehima Ahmed on this well-deserved achievement and for delivering an inspiring vision for the future of Bahir Dar.
Stay tuned as we feature the another Best Thesis Award-winning project in our next BASA Spotlight! β¨

Okay, normally I don't do the "let me talk about architecture" thing on this channel. I know, shocking an account run by an actual architecture person that doesn't spam you with architecture content. π
But I'm making an exception, because this one's too good to sit on.
π Re-Envisioning the Abay River Bridge to Enhance HumanβNature Connectivity β Bahir Dar City, Ethiopia. Thesis by my senior Rehima Ahmed, one of this year's two Best Thesis winners.
π Congrats Rehima this is what "wasted space" looks like when someone actually tries.
check the channel for the other best thesis winner you will love it

cooking update. π’ so the client had a Gemini-generated logo. i looked at it. i looked at my screen. i looked back at it. GEMINI. while I, a real human designer with real human hands exist. now i'm not going to be mean about it. but it looks like a compassβ¦
remember the Oppora logo i was cooking a while back? π’
here are the visuals.
the logo itself is built from three elements, a compass, a directional arrow, and a magnifying glass. opportunity, direction, discovery. that's Oppora.
check it out on LINKED IN as well
