So, not fear mongering here, an Impressive, but not to worry about X2.2 Solar flare occurred on 09:13 UTC (May 9) or 05:13 EST this morning. Effects were immediate as the X2.2 Solar flare reached earth at the speed of light, 8 minutes 32 seconds later. The flare from the sun most likely cause short wave radio disruptions. Part 2 is the Coronal mass ejections (3 to 4) headed towards earth and is expected to arrive 10 May 22:00 EST where North and South America will be facing the opposite direction. Perfect setup to possibly see aurora at mid latitudes. The plasma density is unusually dense because of the successive CMEs will be interesting to see if there are any additional impacts (Satellites failing, possible comm problems) - Oh, did I forget to mention that North and South America are facing away from the CME? Which means The Pacific and Indian Oceans will be facing the CMEs when they hit!. Satellites (Everyone's satellites) will also be facing these CMEs.
