This made me deeply sad. I was playing chess with a guy from Zimbabwe. He was playing quite well, but he made a few mistakes that led to my win. When he was very close to losing, he stopped playing, started analyzing the board, and then sent me a message that basically meant, “ow man… I think I’m too tired to play.”

He used such simple, innocent grammar. It was so freaking sad somehow. It felt like he had worked all day, and when he finally got to play chess, he couldn’t even enjoy it. It’s incredible how bad this made me feel… imagine how hard this guy’s life must be. He’s from Zimbabwe, after all...

It was kinda weird — they wanted me to teach minors, like, a class full of 9yo kids, and I had to insist that I was more suitable to teach adults. We had a long talk and I was almost convinced that I wasn't going to teach to adults. But after using my negotiator skills, we had an agreement! I will teach to a class of adults every Saturday 9am!

Which is weird, because I’m a total stranger to them, and they’re already putting me alone with minors?! Hell no. I think a woman would be more suitable for those classes.

I could also see the flaws that make Catholicism so flawed here. She didn’t care if I had experience or if I knew anything about catechism; she just said, “I won’t interfere with your teachings, so you can teach whatever you want, as long as it follows the Bible” like… excuse me?! Are you frickin’ serious? You just let random people teach whatever they want, and the only requirement is using the Bible? Really? …No wonder people come out knowing almost nothing about Catholicism after being taught catechism.
