Every time I go out and see old people — some of them even single — walking around, I think about how horny they must still be. They’re old, but their desires haven’t disappeared, even though society refuses to acknowledge that they can still feel sexual attraction. Imagine being old and seeing someone who perfectly matches your desires and ideals of beauty and attractiveness, yet being unable to act on it, because it would be seen as weird and they would find you disgusting. So all you can do is observe… watch them having relationships and engaging in sexual acts, while you keep up the facade of a respectable, ancient person. It must be a tragic life.

there are three kinds of people who are seen as “healthy” and “good” and whom I absolutely despise:

1 - people who go out at 6 am to go jogging
2 - people who read pretentious books such as Wuthering Heights
3 - people who pretend to have fun with mathematics

I love calculus. It’s fascinating how everything is perfectly exact; it feels like listening to Beethoven ❤️❤️

I've seen bitches pulling up this kind of pretentious post and then proceeding to date a guy who has never read a single book in his entire life and his tastes are basically Cristiano Ronaldo x Messi edits and Stranger Things season 5

You will never learn to love others until you reject yourself

In Christian spiritual tradition humility is a fundamental value, it is the unseating of the ego from the center of one’s inner world. It is not about holding a low opinion of yourself, but about progressively silencing the constant, subtle commentary of the self. The path of humility is, in essence, a path of unlearning. Our instincts, our thoughts, and even our emotional wounds reinforce the perception that we are the central character in a story that revolves around our needs, our perspectives, and our sense of justice. Love, in this default mode, often becomes transactional or performative - extended when it is deserved, withdrawn when it is not, or offered in ways that ultimately circle back to our own need for validation or peace.

Until this process of unlearning begins, our capacity for love remains constrained by the limits of our own self-interest. We love insofar as it does not threaten our self-image, our comfort, or our narrative. In the writings of the ascetic fathers, humility is consistently described as the bedrock of the spiritual life. It is the soil in which all other virtues grow. A proud person cannot truly pray, for prayer requires standing truthfully before God. A proud person cannot truly forgive, for forgiveness requires surrendering the self’s claim to restitution. A proud person cannot truly see another, for their vision is filtered through their own judgments and needs. Humility is found in accepting correction without dissembling. It is in performing a necessary task that will go unseen. It is in listening to someone without preparing your reply. It is in bearing a slight without needing to set the record straight. It is the daily discipline of choosing the other - and choosing Christ - over the reflexive impulses of the ego.

Thus, humility is not just a virtue among others, it is the necessary reorientation of the soul from which genuine love becomes possible. As the façade of our pride crumbles, the true person begins to emerge. This person is not a void, but a vessel. They are capable of a love that is no longer a projection of the self, but a participation in the self-giving love of God. So reject the clamor of your own pride and sensitivity. In that quiet space you create, you will finally hear the heartbeat of the other. And you will discover, to your astonishment, that you are learning to love.

Humility is the only virtue no demon can imitate. If pride made demons out of angels, then humility can make angels out of demons.

-Saint John Climacus
