it’s a freaking lecture — you need concentration to imagine the scenarios and connect the events. People who bring a friend to “read” visual novels are just people who don’t actually like visual novels and need an extra dopamine hit (having their friend around) to get through it, while they talk about thousands of unrelated things and don’t give proper attention to the VN itself.
