After Charles Darwin proposed the theory of evolution, people—especially psychologists—began drawing parallels between animals and humans. Based on this assumption, I've often heard that humans are social animals and incapable of being completely antisocial. I grew up believing this to some extent, but I never realized that I had always been completely alone. Even so, this loneliness was something I was forced to endure due to the place I lived. I always thought that if the circumstances were different, I would be totally sociable.

However, after moving to this city, being surrounded by people, and talking every day, I came to realize that I feel neither pleasure nor any urge to engage in conversation. And I'm not pretending to be some "cool" person who doesn't need anyone—this is simply how things have turned out. I've come to understand that I can endure loneliness more than anyone around me, which means I lack what those atheists claim defines humans: being social animals.
