I've come to realize that people who don’t listen to rap (or any of its subgenres) don’t really listen to music at all. I’ve seen a lot of nerdy “metal enjoyers” who said rap was bad, but when you check their music historic, bro only listened to actual songs like six times a week or even less. Meanwhile, they spend hours listening to game OSTs

It’s simply natural—if a guy is really into music, he will eventually listen to some form of rap

like, I’m saying this because every time I see a guy who’s like, “I hate rap, but I enjoy X death metal band, they make real music,” when you actually check if he listens to that band, he doesn’t! He’s just playing like 2 songs from them per weekend. Every guy who truly listens to music eventually gets into some rap autism—maybe it’s experimental stuff like Yeezus or Death Grips, or something more palatable for white people like MF DOOM—but he always ends up gravitating toward something rap adjacent. When a guy doesn’t listen to music AT ALL, that’s when he says he doesn’t like rap in general

and it also blows my mind how someone can live in a world like this without listening to music. People who don’t listen to music frequently seem crazy to me
