No one can give you a solid definition of what art truly is. But I can offer you a simple one: art is the struggle of both the artist and the viewer, seeking to experience new emotions through works of art. Anything that evokes emotions through the craftsmanship of human hands can be considered a piece of art.

So yes, to those ignorant people who say things like "modern art is not art", it absolutely is—after all, it’s evoking hatred in you for being extremely ugly. You can’t invalidate something just because you don’t like it. You wouldn’t say a chair isn’t a chair just because you don’t like how it looks.

So, why are most recent works of art (starting from the early 20th century) abstract or simply "ugly"? The answer is simpler than you might think: those pieces of art are not made for you. They are created for older, seasoned art enthusiasts who have experienced art in its fullest form throughout their lives. For them, traditional "beautiful" art has become repetitive, no longer evoking the same emotions. As a result, they seek out "weird" or unconventional art—anything that can stir new feelings within them. Art enthusiasts are constantly hungry for innovation in order to experience fresh emotions, which is why art has become so "ugly"
