(Me and my weird takes again) I found a book by Marcus Aurelius I haven't finished last year. And it reminded me of some questions I came up with in the past. Does reading popular books differ that much from scrolling TitKok? More than that, do you gain that…
I’ll tell you from my experience:
I tried reading 1984 once, and I got EXTREMELY bored because all of my favorite cyberpunk media used this book as inspiration. Everything felt so predictable, and there was nothing new for me.
However, I had the opposite experience reading Sherlock Holmes, for example, since no modern adaptation has done a good job of capturing it...

but no matter what, you should keep reading! There’s so much to discover, book by book. If you’re not enjoying what you’re currently reading but are forcing yourself because others said it’s important… don’t be afraid! Drop that book and read something else!

There is one quote from sun tzu's the art of war that goes:
"If your force is superior, be like fire; if it is inferior, be like water."
Like, what the FUCK does it even mean? This is stupid, and I believe the guy who wrote this(allegedly being sun tzu) felt like a fucking mastermind and wise
