In weeb circles, where women are scarce, men tend to be overly cute and supportive toward their mutuals, almost taking on the role of being the feminine, nurturing presence. Is it some sort of coping mechanism? I dunno, but I’ve noticed it a lot.
It feels like: “if no woman is going to be nice to me or to my beloved friends, then I must be cute and supportive toward them in the way I wish some girl would be.”
