You shouldn't change yourself to be pleasant for others, you should change yourself to be pleasant for yourself. I used to be so freaking annoying to myself that I always needed to be around someone online just to avoid being left alone with my own thoughts.
Change for your own sake. Sometimes I feel like I'm my own Reki, even if other people don't see me that way. Being pleasant to myself has helped me stay focused on the things that actually matter, instead of becoming a leech who constantly seeks out other people just to avoid being alone.
