If youβre interested in game development or 3D engines - todayβs post is for you.
flutter3d is a modular 3D engine built on Flutter, created from scratch and entirely in Dart. Itβs not a wrapper, not a binding, and not a layer on top of flutter_scene - everything is original and fully independent: renderer, physics, sound, game layer, and every piece is a separate package. The render backends are interchangeable: Impeller (Metal/Vulkan), WebGL2, and a software rasterizer in pure Dart.
The author has built three games of different genres on it: a shooter, a platformer, and a racing game, to demonstrate his creation in practice π₯
These three genres also already have ready-made templates: you take the level editor and then only change whatβs yours π

Our favorite Filip HrΓ‘Δek wrote an interesting article comparing the performance of different state management approaches
Whatβs noteworthy is how the measurements were taken: devices with temperature control and a bunch of other gadgets ran for a full 5 days
The results turned out to be very intriguing
We wonβt spoil it - better read the article and the conclusions yourselves π

Six years ago, I created a Flutter channel and posted for the first time. A lot has changed since then. I've changed jobs and moved, and the channel itself has evolved. We now have several authors and social media accounts where you can follow us.
One constant, however, is the amazing community that has gathered around this channel, and it always brings me joy.
Thank you for being with us! π

Filip HrΓ‘Δek recently released another benchmark, this time focusing on loop efficiency. But in addition to the results, the benchmark gave us something even more usefulβan analysis by Slava Egorov. I highly recommend reading it.

Hi everyone! I'm Kristina, the usually silent admin of this channel.
Taking advantage of my admin privileges, I'd like to share something I've been working on.
Turns out, game development is contagious, so I decided to make a little game of my own!
It's the good old 2048 we all know, but with an extra twist β a challenging new time-based mode.
And, of course, it's built entirely with Flutter! π
You can give it a try here:

Downloads, feedback, and β ratings are very much appreciated!
