The Kyber team is proposing a KNC migration to make the Kyber Network Crystal (KNC) token more dynamic and flexible with the ability to undergo upgrades more efficiently. This new KNC token contract gives greater control to the @KyberDAO, enabling it to upgrade the token and mint/burn tokens if necessary to better support innovation and growth, bootstrap liquidity, and enable Kyber to adapt quickly within the fast-changing DeFi landscape.

🔎Research: Trade-offs in Rollup Solutions
Rollup technology is a viable option for solving some of Ethereum's scaling issues. Rollups come in different flavors, each with its own set of trade-offs across throughput, latency, security, usability, and operational costs. In this research piece, Kyber provides a Rollup analysis framework around the trade-offs between various Rollup implementations e.g. ZKSync, Aztec, Starkware, Loopring, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Fuel.

We hope our research can provide teams with a good starting point when considering which Rollup approach is best suited for their needs, and it also informs Kyber's own scaling plans down the road.

✅KNC Migration Process Begins Tomorrow!
@KyberDAO recently approved KIP-6 to migrate and upgrade KNC to make the token more dynamic with the ability to support efficient upgrades, while giving greater control to KyberDAO. This KNC Migration Process will begin tomorrow:
Tue, 20th April, 9pm SGT (GMT+8)

There's no hard deadline for the migration at the moment, so there's no need to rush to convert to the new KNC token immediately. We're working with exchanges, Dapps, staking pools, data sites, and other platforms to support the migration but there will be a transition period where both the old and new KNC tokens run in parallel.

A simple Migration Portal on http://kyber.org will help KNC holders easily migrate to the new KNC token in a few clicks. A step-by-step guide will also be provided. Stay tuned for more details!
