Within minutes of my posting the ‘leaked’ charges today, 3 or 4 accounts who’d never participated in my chat group chimed in to say the same thing - that it was fake. They immediately developed a rapport and then played the victim when I pointed out their coordinated behavior, which was obvious.

Imagine working for 8 years to send Trump to prison and then get this series of indictments as the entire Get Trump effort. This is the whole thing.

Fulton County DA Fani Willis held a press conference after the indictment on RICO charges was released in Georgia. The lengthy charges, served against Trump and 18 of his associates, involve the RICO Act and are primarily regarding alleged conspiracies.

‘The grand jury issued arrest warrants for those who are charged. I am giving the defendants the opportunity to voluntarily surrender no later than noon on Friday, the 25th day of August 2023’

Hunter Biden’s lead criminal defense attorney asked a federal judge on Tuesday for permission to withdraw from the case because he could now be called as a witness in future proceedings.

Christopher Clark, Biden’s longtime defense lawyer, filed a motion with the Delaware judge who has overseen the case since a plea deal was announced in June.

“Based on recent developments, it appears that the negotiation and drafting of the plea agreement and diversion agreement will be contested, and Mr. Clark is a percipient witness to those issues,” Biden’s lawyers said in the filing.

THE UNITED STATES is considering a plea deal that would allow WikiLeaks founder and whistleblower Julian Assange to return to Australia, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Monday.

U.S. Ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy told the Morning Herald that there could be a “resolution” to Assange’s now-four-year detention in Britain.

Assange, an Australian citizen, has been held in a London prison since 2019 while combating U.S. extradition efforts. He faces 18 criminal charges in the U.S., 17 of which allege violations of the Espionage Act.

In a court filing (pdf) to U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, prosecutors with Mr. Smith pushed back against President Trump’s request, claiming that the 2024 Republican presidential candidate was seeking “special treatment that no other criminal defendant would receive and that is unsupported by law or precedent.”

Prosecutors further claimed that President Trump’s request for the SCIF was based on a “misrepresentation” of the requirements set out in the proposed protective order issued last week by Judge Tanya Chutkan.

Federal prosecutors on Tuesday said a pretrial diversion deal that they had offered to Hunter Biden on a felony gun charge did not take effect, despite what Hunter’s lawyers are arguing.

Special Counsel David Weiss also accused Hunter's defense attorneys of "inaccurately" characterizing the collapse of renewed plea negotiations, which fell apart last week after a judge raised questions about the deals Weiss was offering.

"The Government did not 'renege' on the 'previously agreed-upon Plea Agreement,' Weiss said in his new filing in U.S. District Court in Delaware.

"The Defendant chose to plead not guilty at the hearing on July 26, 2023, and U.S. Probation declined to approve the proposed diversion agreement at that hearing," wrote Weiss, who is also the U.S. Attorney for Delaware.

Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows officially filed Tuesday to move the case brought against him by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis into federal court, just a day after he was indicted along with former President Donald Trump and 17 others on charges of attempting to overturn Trump's election loss in the state.

The filing from Meadows' attorney George Terwilliger and Atlanta-based attorney Joseph Englert is based on a federal law that they argue requires the removal of criminal proceedings brought in state court to the federal court system when someone is charged for actions they allegedly took as a federal official acting "under color" of their office.

Trump is also expected to mount a similar effort, according to sources familiar with the matter.
