Once Were Warriors
So I was having a cup of tea at the table—well, the computer desk, if the truth be known—and looking out the window, thinking, This world is insane.
Of course, I do that on a regular basis most mornings when the sun begins and the night ends and all the creatures switch positions: the chattering of raccoons replaced by birds being bloody happy and singing.

I’m sure all reading this can remember the countless sci-fi movies and TV shows (and books too) where the ultra-intelligent being from outer space visits Earth with some profound gift for mankind and is outright rejected, or ultimately killed, due to misunderstanding and fear.

Hoping for Smooth Sailing with the Sea Gulls and Thoreau
Here where I sit once again looking easterly to the vast sea, the wind and the waves and winding vistas along the north Atlantic coast drown out trivial thoughts. We are here for a few days to empty our minds of trash, as a vacation should so vacate.
Unlike many, we are lucky for this opportunity.
Yesterday, while walking down the far deserted beach, we saw a dark mountainous form high up on a sand dune that perplexed us from a distance. As we closely approached it, we saw it was a massive dead seal that had been washed…...
