Let’s talk about….ANOTHER Trump Assassination Attempt
On Saturday night, during the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, a gunman opened fire. He wasn’t in the same room as Donald Trump at the time, but that is presumed to be his target.
Nobody was killed; one Secret Service agent was hit, but he was allegedly saved from serious damage because the bullet hit his phone.
The failed assassin was disarmed and arrested at the scene. His name, released later, is Cole Tomas Allen, a 31-year-old teacher whose motive was initially said to be “unclear”, but they have since discovered the inevitable “manifesto”.

The EU is pushing “Driver-Monitoring Cameras”. Here’s why.
From July of this year, every vehicle registered in the European Union will be required to have driver-monitoring cameras in place. That’s not every new car manufactured, but every car registered.
The “Advanced Driver Distraction Warning” (ADDW) cameras are designed to monitor driver behaviour for signs of potential distraction, and then set off a warning if those signs are detected.
It was first announced in 2024 as part of the EU’s “Vision Zero” plan to eliminate car-related deaths by 2050.
But it’s not really about that.

Two days ago, a new statue “appeared” in Waterloo Square, London.
Located between Pall Mall and Trafalgar Square and only a few hundred yards from Buckingham Palace and Horse Guards Parade – the new artwork depicts a man stepping off a plinth, blinded to his fate by the flag he’s carrying on a staff in his hand.
The resin statue is allegedly the latest work by guerilla artist Banksy, his signature appears on the lower corner and it has been authenticated by his official Instagram account.

Quick Take…Hantavirus Cruise Ship Weirdness
On May 2nd it was reported to the World Health Organization that a “cluster” of passengers on the cruise ship MV Hondius had fallen ill with “severe respiratory illness”.
As of May 4th, seven passengers had fallen ill, resulting in three deaths. Lab testing “confirmed” Hantavirus infection in two of the cases, the other five remained “suspected”.
As of this morning, an eighth case – and third “confirmed” – has been reported.
“Confirmed” is a tricky word here, because we’re talking PCR tests. We’re all painfully familiar with those.
Hantaviruses allegedly asymptomatically infect rodents, and can spread…...

Adolescence is back to get its pay-off. In an “historic” night for television, the Netflix original drama broke some record for…whatever.
Because of course it did.
Because it was always going to.
For anyone fortunate enough to have missed out on the Adolescence hype, or self-preserving enough to have tactically forgotten it, the show is about a young boy who stabs girl at school. It has something to do with incels or misogyny or…again, whatever.

The King’s Speech is hilarious these days. It’s been irrelevant for a long time, but it’s recently become genuinely funny.
He rocks up to Parliament with this shiny hat and big old cloak, the MPs pretend to lock Black Rod out to show they’re independent, and then they all go and listen to him anyway.
If the King were really a ruler it would be at least mean something. But despite the trappings of a constitutional monarchy, he’s really not at the top of the food chain.
