TECH ADVISORY Victron Connect.

If anyone has Victron equipment and has firmware update requests be wary of how you do it, make sure the device is not in normal use..(charging a battery etc) when you decide to run the firmware update. If you do run the update and it fails, like my IP65 12-15 charger did, you may manage to get it through using the advice on the Victron website however that didn't work for me, I loaded the Victron Connect app onto a different device and forced it through from there. Deleting and reinstalling the app, or force stop and delete data, may be sufficient. Make sure you know your Bluetooth pin numbers, generally 000000 (6×0) or are on the side of the device.
Any problems let me know.

Are you looking for alternative lighting, have you considered paraffin lamps?

There's a couple of different types, basic differences are pressurised and non pressurised. Coleman and Tilley lamps are pressurised and (for paraffin, kerosene and diesel) they use a preheat system to get the vapour to the flashpoint temperature which then uses a mantle to produce a long lasting bright flame light. A traditional storm lantern doesn't use pressure and uses a wick, they are designed so that high winds don't extinguish the flames, hence their name.
I will be listing more potential bargains for various lanterns and also, eventually, links/videos for maintenance and repar.

First starter, described as needs a new pump which is available online, I'd suggest replacing the seals too.

Coleman dual fuel lantern.

I have one of these, you cannot imagine how beautiful it is to sit outside the van on an evening with a lamp glowing whilst reading a book and having a drink.
