🇬🇧Odesa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov met with the founder of the World Central Kitchen, Mr. José Andrés. WCK is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to providing nutrition after natural disasters.

According to the Mayor of Odesa, the joint work of the city authorities and this organization has already shown its effectiveness, because today the main priority is to help people.

“Our task is to share our experience. Catering for people is difficult even in peacetime, and when an emergency occurs, it is doubly difficult. That is why we are here to say: “Catering is not a problem,” said Mr. José Andrés.

WCK has been cooperating with Odesa since March 14th. As of May 28, the city received 23 wagons and 12 trucks of a variety of canned food and long-term storage products.

We work every day to strengthen our defense. This is primarily a supply of weapons. Every day we are bringing closer the time when our army will surpass the occupiers technologically and by firepower. Of course, a lot depends on the partners. On their readiness to provide Ukraine with everything necessary to defend freedom. And I expect good news on this already next week.

This address of mine is dedicated to four cities of Ukraine: Kharkiv, Kyiv, Severodonetsk and Kryvyi Rih. And through them - to our whole state, to all our cities and communities.

🇬🇧🇮🇹During the ceremony, a video address by the Mayor of Odesa Gennady Trukhanov was shown, in which he thanked Italy, which fully supported the initiative to include Odesa in the main list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

"Odesa is a city that is historically very closely connected with Italy. The Italian footprint in our architecture has greatly contributed to its world-famous color. In Odesa, there are buildings and structures built by legendary Italian architects, "said Odesa Mayor.

The Mayor expressed special gratitude for the hospitality with which Venice received Ukrainian refugees, including Odesa residents, because, according to Trukhanov, "no Odesa resident can live without the sea."

Addressing the European Council, I emphasized: Europe must show strength. Because Russia perceives only strength as an argument. It's time. It’s time for you to be not separate, not fragments, but one whole. Ukraine has shown by its own example why this is important. In our country, starting from February 24 there is the maximum unity, everyone is working for one result - state protection. And thanks to this we managed to do what the world did not expect: Ukraine stopped the Russian army – and everyone was afraid of it, remember? – and managed to liberate part of our occupied territory. Greater unity is truly the foundation of this strength. You know this. Finally, all quarrels in Europe must end, internal discord that only encourages Russia to put more and more pressure on you.

Today in the Luhansk region, the occupiers disrupted the evacuation from the areas of hostilities by firing at a car following the locals. French journalist Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff was killed by the shelling. He worked for the French TV channel BFM TV. A little over a month ago, I gave an interview to this particular TV channel. This was my first interview with the French media during a full-scale war. My sincere condolences to Frédéric's colleagues and family. He became the 32nd media representative killed after February 24.

🇬🇧putin has done enormous damage to Ukraine. At the same time, he inflicted damage on his own people. This opinion was expressed by the Mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, in an interview with the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung.

“Of course, I’m not particularly interested in what will happen there. But I think that he doomed his own people to, to put it mildly, a very difficult existence in the world community,” the Mayor added.

🇬🇧Odesa is a European city and is open to European guests. This opinion was expressed by Mayor Gennady Trukhanov in an interview with the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung.

“Odesa was created and built by Europeans. I spent a lot of time in sister cities with which we had previously lost relations and restored them, just like our monuments of architecture built by the Italians. After the Victory, we are waiting for the whole of Europe to visit us, ”added Trukhanov.

Finally, we have the specifics about the European Union's sixth sanctions package on Russia for this war.
The package was agreed.
Its approval and entry into force will take some time. But the key elements of the package are already clear, and most importantly - its direction.
European countries have agreed to significantly limit oil imports from Russia. And I am grateful to everyone who worked to reach this agreement.
The practical result is minus tens of billions of euros, which Russia will now be unable to use to finance terror.

Today we honor the memory of little Ukrainians whose lives were taken by the war unleashed by the russian federation in our country. We remember everyone, both in Odesa and in other cities of Ukraine, who just started their life and whose lives were interrupted by the brutal aggressor…

On the International Children's Day, a drawing competition was held in Odesa, in which about a hundred children from different cities of Ukraine took part.On June 1, the Mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, awarded 6 winners of the competition with diplomas and presented certificates for receiving cash rewards (children from other cities will receive diplomas in electronic form, and cash rewards - on their parents' bank cards).
According to the Mayor, today young Ukrainians have matured quickly: at their young age, unfortunately, they learned what war is.“I would like to wish you a peaceful sky above you, so that you quickly forget this terrible word“ war ”. So that peace reigns in our beloved Ukraine as soon as possible,” said Gennady Trukhanov.
According to Deputy Mayor Svetlana Bedrega, all drawings will be handed over to the defenders of Ukraine, because the support of every Ukrainian is very important for them.
In addition, a number of competitive works are placed on city billboards.

During the 98 days of the Russian invasion, 689 children were injured as a result of the occupiers' attacks. And these are only those we know about.
We do not yet have all the information from the territory that is currently occupied. But from what is known today - 446 children were injured, 243 children died. 139 went missing.
243 children! Eternal memory to everyone whose life was taken away by the Russian war against us, against Ukrainians, against Ukraine.
