In 1944, expelling the Crimean Tatars from their land, the then torturers were convinced that none of the displaced would return home, to Crimea.
Now, trying to occupy Ukraine and destroy our lives, the current torturers of the people were also convinced that everything would work out for them and that we would not be able to endure it.
And we endured. And we are struggling to bring life back to every corner of our home. And we are coming back.
Eternal memory to all victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people!

🇬🇧Last year we opened an Odesa 5T office in Genoa. On behalf of Mayor Gennady Trukhanov, the Office was engaged in joint projects between Odesa and Italy in the field of education, architecture, culture, investment and business. However, the war, which was started by russia, has made its own adjustments to the work and today our office helps with humanitarian issues.
Thanks to Presidente Salvi Cesare, Vice Presidente Salvi Camilla and Dr. Tcherkes Zade Tariel from Studio Medico Ariel, together with Attilio Malliani, Ambassador of Odesa in Italy, we have received medical equipment for prosthetics and rehabilitation of wounded fighters. The aid has already been transferred to the health department for distribution to the city's hospitals.
We are hugely grateful to our Italian friends for their help. Viva Italia! Viva Ukraine!

🇬🇧The presentation of the book "War" took place at the World Club of Odesans. These are poems and prose by Odessa authors, created in the first month and a half of the war.
The book presents the works of famous authors Evgeny Golubovsky, Vitaly Babuschak, Lyudmila Sharga, Anna Streminskaya, Elena Andreichikova, Anna Mikhalevskaya, Sergey Ryadchenko, Anna Kostenko and many others.
The voice of each of the thirty-five authors of this collection is unique and inimitable. But one thing unites everyone - a bare nerve, the severity of emotions, the emotional background of every day of the war, when during the day the mood fluctuates from "everything is lost" to "we will win soon."
The book was published in 300 copies.

🇬🇧Odesa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov gave an interview to the Austrian TV channel ORF. According to him, the lack of sufficient fuel, in the first place, affects the operation of public transport. Those buses of private companies that run on diesel and gasoline have already reduced the number of exits of their vehicles on the routes.
“Now a huge stress is put on the urban electric transport. Despite wartime, we are completing repairs at the intersection of Panteleymonovskaya and Preobrazhenskaya streets in an expeditious manner. This will allow us to bring our trams there and, accordingly, reduce the load on the routes,” said Gennady Trukhanov.
He also said that today the priority is refueling ambulances and emergency vehicles. As of now, all of them are provided with fuel.

🇬🇧We must learn to live in wartime and do everything to keep life going. This was stated by the Mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, in an interview with the Austrian TV channel ORF.
“The danger is definitely there. Missile attacks, daily alarms - the war, alas, continues. But life must go on," said Gennady Trukhanov.
He pointed out that small and medium-sized businesses should work - subject to all the norms and restrictions of wartime.
“The President of Ukraine speaks about this, we all understand this - it is necessary to learn how to live in this difficult time, when the country is at war,” said the Mayor of Odesa.

🇬🇧“The truth is on our side! And where there is truth, there is victory,” said the Mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, in an interview with the Italian edition of Doppiozero.
According to the Mayor of Odesa, the aggressor country was afraid to enter into conflict with those whom it actually considers the main opponent, and chose Ukraine as a “target for beating”. Gennady Trukhanov stressed that it was their mistake, and today it is obvious!
“They wanted to come to a young country, which, in their opinion, did not have time to form its armed forces, and show their strength. It turned out that they didn’t have any power,” said Gennady Trukhanov.

We remember Crimea. And we will never forget 1944 - the genocide of Crimean Tatars committed by the Soviet authorities. And 2014 - the second wave of destruction of everything free on the Crimean peninsula.
Especially on this day I signed the law on the protection of persons deprived of liberty by the occupiers, as well as on the protection of family members of such people. We are talking about all the Kremlin prisoners - both in Crimea and in the occupied part of Donbas. The law gives them more protection and assistance from the state.

🇬🇧The issue of accepting Odesa to the main UNESCO World Heritage List was raised even before the war. But now this issue is especially relevant, since there is a real threat of destruction of urban architectural monuments. The Mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, said this in an interview with a journalist from the Austrian TV channel ORF.
According to the Mayor of Odesa, the first step was taken in 2009 - Odesa was included in the UNESCO preliminary list. Today a working group has been created and the applications have been updated.
“We are supported by almost all sister cities, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, the Prime Minister of Italy, the Minister of Culture of Italy, we are supported in Austria and Germany. Everyone sent letters to UNESCO so that Odesa gets on the main list,” said Gennady Trukhanov.
