π¬π§A water purification system will be delivered to Odesa from the sister city of Yokohama. The Mayor of Yokohama, Mr. Takeharu Yamanaka, said this during a conversation with Odesa Mayor. According to the Mayor of Odesa, it is very necessary today. The Japanese side assured that all the details for the delivery of the station have already been agreed, and they will provide all possible assistance.
In addition, Gennady Trukhanov asked to support Odesa in the issue of accepting our city to the main UNESCO World Heritage List.
βThere are many architectural monuments in Odesa, we have a rich cultural heritage. But the missile strikes that are inflicted on our city are already damaging it today, barbarously destroying our cultural heritage,β said Gennady Trukhanov.
βWe guarantee that we will contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to assist you in this matter,β said Mr. Takeharu Yamanaka.

We continue to restore the de-occupied territories of Ukraine. As of today, 1015 settlements have been de-occupied, which is plus six in the past 24 hours. We return electricity, water supply, communications, transport, social services there. It is important.
Of course, we remember every city and every community that is still under occupation. Kherson, Melitopol, Berdyansk, Enerhodar, Mariupol and all cities and towns of Donbas... The gradual liberation of the Kharkiv region proves that we will not leave anyone to the enemy.

π¬π§On May 14, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Righteous Among the Nations.
On this occasion, Odesans came to honor the memory of the victims of Nazism and the feat of the Odesa Righteous Among the Nations. There is a symbolic place in Odesa - the Alley of the Righteous of the World, which appeared 20 years ago - in Prokhorovsky Square near the memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. βWe created this alley as a sign of gratitude to the Ukrainians who, during the Second World War, at the risk of their own lives, helped the Jews,β said Roman Shvartsman, head of the Odesa Regional Association of Jewish Former Ghetto and Nazi Concentration Camp Prisoners.
βOdesa remembers everyone: both the heroes who defended and liberated it, and the people who can be called the βconscience of the city,β said Deputy Odesa Mayor Oleg Bryndak.
Oleg Bryndak also stressed that, unfortunately, the slogan "Never again" is still relevant today in the context of the russia's military aggression on the territory of Ukraine.

π¬π§Due to the military aggression and landmines by russian troops, navigation in the Black Sea was blocked. The correspondent of Die Zeit Ms. Andrea Jesca discussed this and other issues with Acting Deputy Mayor of Odesa Oleg Bryndak.
"The situation around the port, of course, harms not only Odesa and Ukraine, but also the entire international community - because of the food crisis," said Oleg Bryndak.
Also, according to him, the enemy has not abandoned plans to surround Odesa, so the destruction of infrastructure, including transport, remains his goal.
"It's also psychological pressure, because the recent strikes on civilian targets, missile attacks, of course, imply moral pressure to somehow weaken our defenses," he said. In addition to this component there is another one - humanitarian. This is, in particular, an attempt to "break" the logistics - both humanitarian aid and the evacuation of civilians.

The situation in Donbas remains very difficult. Russian troops are still trying to show at least some victory. On the 80th day of the full-scale invasion, it looks especially insane, but they do not stop all these efforts.
I am grateful to everyone who holds the line and brings closer to Donbas, Pryazovia and Kherson the same thing that is happening now in the Kharkiv region. Step by step we are forcing the occupiers to leave our land. We will make them leave the Ukrainian sea as well.

π¬π§It is simply impossible to do worse than Putin did for his people and for relations with neighbors that have developed historically. This was stated by the Mayor of Odesa Gennady Trukhanov in an interview with CNN.
According to him, firstly, this is due to the fact that the president of the aggressor country does not hesitate by any methods in achieving his goals.
βThe occupiers donβt give a damn about the civilian population, the loss of life, the destruction of civilian infrastructure. Apparently, they believe that "the war will write off everything, military losses." They have nothing sacred,β said Gennady Trukhanov.

Open dialogue with students of major American universities about choice. The main choice that everyone makes in their life when choosing the answer to the question of who they are.
Ukraine has made its choice. Our state will never be a victim again. It will not be just an observer of life - including its own life. We can, want to and will be subjects in life. This is where our strength comes from, our strong desire for the freedom we are fighting for.

A difficult day. But this day, like all others, is aimed precisely at saving our country and our people. Regarding the situation in Mariupol. Thanks to the actions of the Ukrainian military - the Armed Forces of Ukraine, intelligence, the negotiating team, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations, we hope that we will be able to save the lives of our guys. Among them are the seriously wounded, they are being provided with medical aid. I want to emphasize: Ukraine needs Ukrainian heroes alive. This is our principle. I think that every adequate person will understand these words.
