🇬🇧As a result of one of the missile attacks on Odesa, one of the architectural gems of our city, the Vorontsov Palace, was damaged. The blast wave damaged windows and stucco elements.
“Once again, I want appeal to the international organization UNESCO on the inclusion of Odesa into the World Heritage List. We must preserve our architecture for future generations - not only of Odesa, but of the whole world,” Mayor Gennady Trukhanov commented.

Russia's strategic defeat is already obvious to everyone in the world and even to those who still continue to communicate with them. Russia simply lacks courage to admit it so far. They are cowards. And they are trying to hide the truth behind missile, air and artillery strikes. Therefore, our task is to fight until we achieve our goals in this war. Free our land, our people and reliably ensure our security.

🇬🇧Another humanitarian aid from our international partners has arrived in Odesa. This time from Israel. These are medicines and equipment for the units that today protect Ukraine from invaders. The cargo has already been transferred to its destination.
We are sincerely grateful to the Israeli-Ukrainian Association Nexus represented by lawyer Irena Livshits for their help.
Israel always helps Ukraine and this help is especially felt now. After all, our Israeli friends, like no one else, know what it's like to live in war and fight the enemy! Together to Victory!

🇬🇧The most important plan of the invaders, in addition to the capture of Eastern Ukraine, was to cut off Ukraine from the Black Sea Fleet and create new formations on the territory of South-Eastern Ukraine. Odesa played a special role in this regard. But we have successfully crashed these plans. This was stated in an interview with a journalist by the Japanese television company NHK by Deputy Odesa Mayor Oleg Bryndak.
According to Bryndak, the missile strikes that are launched on Odesa are revenge for the fact that our city did not meet the aggressor in the way it expected.
“The worst thing is that the main blows are inflicted on civilian infrastructure. It has nothing to do with military purposes. From this we can conclude that this is revenge for the fact that we, Ukrainians, live in our own independent country, are not happy with any “liberators” and do not accept the “russian world”, said Oleg Bryndak.

🇬🇧A water purification system will be delivered to Odesa from the sister city of Yokohama. The Mayor of Yokohama, Mr. Takeharu Yamanaka, said this during a conversation with Odesa Mayor. According to the Mayor of Odesa, it is very necessary today. The Japanese side assured that all the details for the delivery of the station have already been agreed, and they will provide all possible assistance.
In addition, Gennady Trukhanov asked to support Odesa in the issue of accepting our city to the main UNESCO World Heritage List.
“There are many architectural monuments in Odesa, we have a rich cultural heritage. But the missile strikes that are inflicted on our city are already damaging it today, barbarously destroying our cultural heritage,” said Gennady Trukhanov.
“We guarantee that we will contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to assist you in this matter,” said Mr. Takeharu Yamanaka.

We continue to restore the de-occupied territories of Ukraine. As of today, 1015 settlements have been de-occupied, which is plus six in the past 24 hours. We return electricity, water supply, communications, transport, social services there. It is important.
Of course, we remember every city and every community that is still under occupation. Kherson, Melitopol, Berdyansk, Enerhodar, Mariupol and all cities and towns of Donbas... The gradual liberation of the Kharkiv region proves that we will not leave anyone to the enemy.

🇬🇧On May 14, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Righteous Among the Nations.
On this occasion, Odesans came to honor the memory of the victims of Nazism and the feat of the Odesa Righteous Among the Nations. There is a symbolic place in Odesa - the Alley of the Righteous of the World, which appeared 20 years ago - in Prokhorovsky Square near the memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. “We created this alley as a sign of gratitude to the Ukrainians who, during the Second World War, at the risk of their own lives, helped the Jews,” said Roman Shvartsman, head of the Odesa Regional Association of Jewish Former Ghetto and Nazi Concentration Camp Prisoners.
“Odesa remembers everyone: both the heroes who defended and liberated it, and the people who can be called the “conscience of the city,” said Deputy Odesa Mayor Oleg Bryndak.
Oleg Bryndak also stressed that, unfortunately, the slogan "Never again" is still relevant today in the context of the russia's military aggression on the territory of Ukraine.
