IRAN UNDER ATTACK: WASHINGTON’S WAR OF IMPOSITION IN THE PERSIAN GULF

For the second consecutive night, Iran’s southern coastline has come under heavy standoff strikes, with reported attacks reaching Chabahar, Konarak, Jask, Sirik, Qeshm and Bandar Abbas.

Reports indicate the use of ship- and submarine-launched Tomahawk cruise missiles, targeting Iranian radar, air-defense and naval infrastructure.

The message from Washington is clear:

Iran is being pressured not through diplomacy, but through military force on its own territory.

And that distinction matters.

🇮🇷 IRAN IS NOT THE POWER THAT CROSSED THE OCEAN

Whatever Washington calls these operations, the basic reality is difficult to disguise:

Iran is being struck inside its own sovereign territory by a foreign military power.

The United States is thousands of miles from its own mainland, yet it is deploying naval and air assets to attack Iranian defenses along the Gulf of Oman and Persian Gulf.

Iran, meanwhile, is defending the coastline of its own country.

That does not make every Iranian action automatically legitimate or strategically wise.

But it does expose the central contradiction in Washington’s rhetoric:

A power projecting military force into another country’s territory cannot credibly present itself as the sole guardian of regional security.

🎯 WHY THE SOUTHERN COAST?

The targeting pattern is strategically significant.

Chabahar.

Konarak.

Jask.

Qeshm.

Bandar Abbas.

These locations form part of Iran’s maritime and defensive architecture overlooking some of the world’s most strategically important waterways.

The apparent objective is to degrade Iran’s ability to detect, track and respond to U.S. air and naval operations.

In military terms, this resembles a Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) campaign.

Destroy the radar.

Suppress the air defenses.

Disrupt coastal missile capabilities.

Create safer conditions for further strikes.

So the question is not simply:

“Why is America attacking these sites?”

The more important question is:

“What does Washington intend to do after Iran’s defenses have been weakened?”

🇮🇷 THE CALCULATION WASHINGTON MAY BE GETTING WRONG

The United States possesses overwhelming technological advantages.

Iran does not need to deny that reality.

But Iran’s strength does not depend on matching the United States platform for platform.

Its strategic position is built around geography, depth, missile capabilities, dispersed assets and the ability to sustain resistance under pressure.

This is precisely why the idea that Iran can simply be bombed into accepting Washington’s political demands is questionable.

You can destroy infrastructure without destroying a state’s strategic interests.

You can suppress a radar without suppressing national resistance.

And you can launch hundreds of missiles without possessing a credible political endgame.

🌊 THE PERSIAN GULF DOES NOT BELONG TO WASHINGTON

Washington speaks constantly about

“freedom of navigation” and “regional security.”

But security cannot mean that one external power reserves the right to attack another sovereign state whenever it considers that state’s capabilities inconvenient.

The Persian Gulf is a vital international waterway.

It is not an American lake.

The Strait of Hormuz is strategically important to the entire world.

It is not Washington’s private military corridor.

And Iran has legitimate security interests on its own coastline.

🇮🇱 THE POLITICAL ENDGAME

The deeper problem is the growing convergence between Washington’s military pressure and Israel’s maximalist demands on Iran.

If Tehran is presented with a choice between accepting externally imposed restrictions or facing escalating bombardment, then diplomacy has effectively been reduced to coercion backed by missiles.

That is not a durable security architecture.

It is an invitation to permanent confrontation.

And it creates a dangerous precedent:

🔴 Drone and Missile Attacks Target U.S. Bases in Kuwait and Erbil

Field reports indicate that Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait came under attack by suicide drones, while the Kuwaiti Armed Forces confirmed that an attack had taken place.

A second wave of missile attacks reportedly followed, amid official claims that the targets had been intercepted and expectations that the scale of the damage and casualties would be downplayed.

Meanwhile, the developments extended to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, where two consecutive explosions were heard in Erbil. Some sources indicated that the explosions targeted the U.S. Consulate in the city.

Aerial Escalation as Strikes Target Nabatieh and Surrounding Areas

🔻 Sonic boom: Israeli occupation aircraft carried out intensive low-altitude flights and broke the sound barrier over southern Lebanon.

🔻 Simultaneous airstrikes: A series of airstrikes targeted the town of Kfar Rumman, while additional strikes were reported in the Nabatieh al-Fawqa area in southern Lebanon.

UPDATE | Iran Expands Retaliatory Strikes Against U.S. Positions Across the Region

Since our previous report, the situation has escalated significantly.

The IRGC has officially claimed coordinated missile and drone attacks against U.S. positions in Erbil, Iraq, saying that a maintenance facility, technical-equipment warehouses and the control system of a U.S. surveillance aerostat were destroyed. The IRGC also claimed that fuel storage facilities were set ablaze and that U.S. personnel were killed.

🇮🇶 ERBIL: Explosions were reported near the U.S. Consulate, while the IRGC confirmed attacks against U.S. military positions in the area.

🇯🇴 JORDAN: The IRGC says it launched a heavy ballistic-missile attack against Camp Titin, the U.S. Marine facility near the Gulf of Aqaba, claiming that important facilities and attack helicopters were destroyed and that a large number of U.S. personnel were killed.

Jordan, however, says its air defenses intercepted 10 of 13 ballistic missiles that entered its airspace, with the remaining three falling in remote areas. Two U.S. officials told Reuters that no American casualties had been reported from the attacks.

🇯🇴 AL-MAFRAQ & AQABA: Air-raid sirens were activated in both governorates as Iranian missiles entered Jordanian airspace.

🇧🇭 BAHRAIN: Iranian sources have also reported attacks against U.S.-linked facilities, including Sheikh Isa Air Base, with the IRGC claiming that drones targeted radar installations and concentrations of U.S. forces.

🇰🇼 KUWAIT: Kuwait has also reported hostile drone activity, with its air defenses responding to incoming threats.

⚔️ What has changed?

What initially appeared to be a limited Iranian response has now developed into a multi-theatre Iranian strike campaign against the U.S. military footprint, stretching from Iraq and Jordan to Bahrain and Kuwait.

This is strategically important.

Iran is demonstrating that the battlefield is not confined to Iranian territory or the Strait of Hormuz. Washington’s regional military architecture itself is becoming part of the battlespace.

The next phase will be decisive:

Will Washington absorb attacks across multiple bases and partner states — or respond with an escalation that turns the entire Gulf and Levant into an open regional theatre?

RUSSIA–IRAN | Moscow Helps Tehran Approach the Hypersonic Missile Threshold

A Financial Times investigation published on September 1–2, 2026, has revealed details of a covert Russian-Iranian program launched in 2023 to develop advanced technology for hypersonic cruise missiles under the codename C430L.

According to the investigation, the cooperation goes beyond technology transfer and includes the direct involvement of specialized Russian engineers in developing a ramjet propulsion system — a key technology for propelling missiles at high speeds while maintaining low-altitude flight.

⚙️ How Far Has Iran Come?

Information obtained by the Financial Times indicates that Iran has already manufactured and flight-tested the ramjet engine, while Russian engineers have provided assessments of flight-test data, including the fuel system, combustion stability, air intake and engine nozzle.

In April 2025, Russia also reportedly proposed sending approximately 24 Russian specialists to Iran for additional technical consultations.

🇷🇺 Why Does It Matter?

For Iran, ramjet technology offers an opportunity to accelerate the development of a new generation of missiles combining high speed, low-altitude flight and reduced warning times for opposing defence systems.

This is particularly significant in the Persian Gulf, where U.S. naval assets operate relatively close to Iranian territory.

For Russia, providing this level of specialized engineering expertise suggests that military cooperation with Tehran is moving beyond weapons transfers toward the transfer of technological capabilities that could affect the regional deterrence balance.

And this is where the broader picture emerges.

Iran previously supplied Russia with Shahed drones and contributed to establishing their production inside Russia. In return, Moscow now appears to be assisting Tehran in a field that could give it an additional capability to challenge U.S. naval superiority in the Gulf.

🇺🇸 The Equation for Washington

The issue is not whether Iran currently possesses an operational hypersonic weapon, but how quickly it may be approaching that capability.

If Tehran succeeds in transforming ramjet technology into an operational missile combining speed, maneuverability and low-altitude flight, it could put increasing pressure on the U.S. assumption that its sensor networks and layered defence systems provide American naval forces with a substantial margin of safety in the Gulf.

Moscow does not necessarily have to hand Tehran a finished missile; more consequentially, it may be helping Iran shorten the path toward producing one itself.
