1/4 💥 Joint U.S.-Saudi Airstrikes in Iraq: Fighter jets from the U.S. and Saudi Arabia targeted IRGC-backed militia logistics and weapons facilities in eastern Iraq. The operation follows over 30 aerial drone attacks launched against U.S. personnel and Saudi energy hubs over the past 72 hours.

Title: PATRICK LAWRENCE: Only One Way Out for Trump

Publication:
Consortium News

Core Argument:

Donald Trump faces an inescapable dilemma in the war with Iran due to depleted U.S. military munitions (such as Patriot interceptor stockpiles), shrinking Strategic Petroleum Reserves, and Iran's total refusal to negotiate with his administration. Unable to escalate further or secure a diplomatic breakthrough, Trump's only viable option to prevent widespread economic fallout and severe political damage at home is to end the campaign and accept a de facto defeat framed as a
"peace with honor"

resolution, even if doing so causes a rift with Israel.

☄️ "OUR HANDS ARE FULL": WE WILL WIPE OUT THE AGGRESSORS

The treacherous Saudi-American enemy has once again struck our forces, targeting the 24th Brigade headquarters during Operations Diyala. We mourn the brave martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd) who fell victim to this blatant aggression.
Let the aggressors and their puppets listen carefully to the words of our martyred commander, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis:

"By Allah, with these young men and with this Hussaini resolve, we will stop America and we will stop all of its lackeys. We resisted the Americans when our hands were empty, and today our hands are full. By Allah, you will have no safety in our land!"

This cowardly assault will not break our determination. Our hands are full, and our land will remain a graveyard for invaders and traitors alike.

THE SAUDI-AMERICAN AGGRESSION DEMANDS ACCOUNTABILITY: WHEN WILL BAGHDAD SPEAK? 🚨🚨
A stark historical contrast unfolds today as Iraq faces unprovoked hostility from abroad. ⚠️

When the late commander Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis was asked about the boundaries and scope of future operations, his response was clear and uncompromising: 🗣️💥

"Where will our operations stop? In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia."

🇸🇦⚔️

At the time, the Iraqi government moved swiftly to offer formal apologies to the Saudi regime.

Today, following a direct Saudi-American attack that resulted in a tragic massacre claiming the lives of over ten Hashd Al-Shaabi fighters on Iraqi soil, the response from official channels is absolute silence. 🩸🇮🇶

Key government entities—including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense—have failed to issue a single condemnation regarding this blatant violation of national sovereignty.

The contrast remains clear: swift official apologies for bold statements in the past, yet silence when Iraqi lives and sovereignty are targeted today. ⚖️🔥

🔴 Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Announce: 20 Martyrs Killed and 32 Wounded in U.S.-Saudi Attacks on Their Headquarters Amid Complete Government Silence

📍 Iraq

The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) issued two official statements today, 29 July 2026, announcing that several of its official headquarters in the provinces of Baghdad, Wasit, Nineveh, Basra, Kirkuk, Karbala, and Diyala were targeted in what it described as treacherous terrorist attacks carried out by U.S. and Saudi forces.

According to the PMF, the attacks have resulted, in a preliminary and non-final toll, in the deaths of at least 20 martyrs and the injury of 32 others, in addition to extensive material damage to its headquarters, vehicles, and military equipment.

The PMF described the strikes as an extremely dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and its official security institutions. It added that specialized committees are continuing their field assessments to determine the full extent of the damage and evaluate the situation, while the Iraqi government and the country’s political class remain completely silent.

Blood for Blood – The American-Saudi Reckoning Has Begun 🇮🇶⚔️

Today’s joint U.S.-Saudi airstrikes across Iraq are not just an act of aggression—they are a declaration of war. In the early hours of July 29, American and Saudi forces bombarded multiple Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) headquarters across seven provinces, including Baghdad, Nineveh, and Basra. The preliminary toll: at least 20 martyrs and 32 wounded. This is a brutal, cowardly assault on Iraq’s official security institutions.

This aggression echoes the 2019 U.S. strikes on al-Qa'im—an attack the late great leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis vowed would never go unanswered. Today, his words ring louder than ever:

"سنحاسب الامريكان واذنابهم والله لن نسكت"

("We will hold the Americans and their tails accountable, and by God, we will not remain silent.")

The Saudi regime’s entry into this war is the beginning of its end. They will be sent back to their camels and sandals🐪🩴, just as the Martyr promised.

This is the moment of truth for the so-called "Iraqi government" and all Shiite parties. Either the response matches the scale of the crime—or they fall morally and politically.

There is no good in those who surrender their weapons and the fate of Iraqis to dysfunctional states and parties that remain silent in the face of aggression.

The Americans and Saudis will pay a hefty price. The blood of our martyrs will not be wasted. The resistance is united, and the reckoning is coming. 🩸🔥

☄️ THE STRAIT IS IRANIAN — NO DEAL, NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER 🇮🇷

JUST IN — OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Who: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi

When: July 28–29, 2026 (interviews with IRIB state TV and IRINN)

What: Iran has definitively rejected Oman's proposal for joint 50-50 management of the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran's final position: one shipping lane entirely under Iranian control, with partial control over the second lane. The Strait
"will never return to its pre-war arrangements" — this is now "definitive state policy".

Key Points:

Iran has not sought talks with the U.S. in the past 15 days — it was Washington that requested dialogue through Omani mediation. Any European warship approaching the Strait is a
"legitimate target"

· If Oman does not accept Iran's terms: the Strait remains closed and Iran is
"ready for war's resumption"

· Iran does not recognize the U.S.-backed southern route
"even for one hour"

· The IRGC Navy struck three oil tankers on July 29 for taking an
"unsafe and illegal route"

ANALYSIS & COMMENTARY

This is not diplomacy — this is fait accompli. By anchoring its demands in Article 5 of the U.S.-Iran MoU, Tehran has flipped the negotiating table. The message to Washington is crystal clear: you bombed us, you blockaded us, and you lost. The Strait is no longer a bargaining chip — it is a strategic conquest.

For the Americans, this means one thing: all negotiations are now on Iranian terms or not at all. The U.S. can either accept Tehran's control over the world's most vital energy chokepoint — through which one-fifth of global oil once flowed — or prepare for an endless war of attrition. Iran has already proven it can absorb strikes, retaliate across the region, and hold the global economy hostage.

The Axis of Resistance stands firm. The Americans and their Saudi allies miscalculated — they thought bombing Iraq and Iran would break the resistance. Instead, they have handed Tehran total strategic dominance over the Gulf. The Strait of Hormuz is now Iran's sword — and it will not be sheathed until Washington concedes defeat.

The price will be heavy. Just as Abu Mahdi promised. 🩸🔥

🔴 Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Announce: 20 Martyrs Killed and 32 Wounded in U.S.-Saudi Attacks on Their Headquarters Amid Complete Government Silence 📍 Iraq The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) issued two official statements today, 29 July 2026, announcing…
🔴 Islamic Resistance in Iraq Statement: Government Given Deadline to Respond to U.S. Aggression, Resistance Vows Retribution

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has issued an official statement following what it described as a U.S. attack targeting members of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and a service convoy assisting pilgrims traveling to Karbala for the Arbaeen commemoration. The incident reportedly resulted in dozens of people killed and wounded. The statement also accused the Saudi government of acting on behalf of the United States.

• Condemnation of the Attack

The statement strongly condemned the recent U.S. strike targeting the PMF and a service convoy for Arbaeen pilgrims in the holy city of Karbala, which it said caused dozens of casualties. It accused the Saudi government of being involved and serving as an intelligence proxy for Washington.

• Questioning the Government’s Role

The resistance questioned whether the Iraqi government would be capable of deterring aggressors and defending Iraq’s sovereignty and the blood of its people if the resistance were to surrender its weapons to the state, as some officials have demanded.

• Deadline Given to the Government

The statement granted Iraqi authorities calling for the disarmament of the resistance a deadline until the 23rd of Safar to demonstrate, through practical action, their ability to protect the country and respond to the recent attack.

• Position on Retaliation

The resistance reaffirmed that retaliation against the U.S. attack is inevitable but announced that it would temporarily postpone any response out of concern for the safety of Arbaeen pilgrims and to avoid disrupting the religious commemorations. It added that U.S. assets or allies in Saudi Arabia could become targets if circumstances require.

🚨 Enemy surveillance drones are still flying over various areas across Lebanon. ✈️ ⚠️ Please exercise caution and remain vigilant.
📌 Israel’s Channel 14:

“The expected response today against Hezbollah is not expected to include Beirut’s southern suburbs (Dahiyeh).”

The primary trigger behind this decision is the specific nature and operational context of today's incident in southern Lebanon

Tactical Nature of the Breach: The incident involved a Hezbollah suicide drone striking an Israeli IDF military engineering vehicle (a D9 bulldozer) operating in the Ali al-Taher hill area of southern Lebanon.

Zero Israeli Casualties: The attack caused no military or civilian fatalities or injuries.

Calibrated Thresholds & Proportionality: Under Israel's operational guidelines, striking Dahiyeh in Beirut is reserved for major strategic escalations—such as direct rocket/missile barrages into Israeli population centers or attacks causing significant casualties. Because today's breach occurred directly against military hardware in the southern frontline security zone, Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered retaliatory airstrikes calibrated specifically to targets in southern Lebanon rather than expanding the scope to Beirut.

🔴 Diplomatic Behind-the-Scenes and Strait of Hormuz: An Analytical Reading of Gharibabadi’s Statements

▪️ In a television interview broadcast last night on Iranian state television, Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, made notable statements revealing new dimensions and background details regarding the ongoing diplomatic and technical battle over the Strait of Hormuz.

▪️ On the surface, Gharibabadi's statements reflected hardline positions and clear red lines. He emphasized that Tehran negotiates solely with Oman (dismissing any direct role for Washington) and stressed that Iran not only refuses to recognize the US-backed southern corridor, but also considers it unviable.

▪️ However, a careful look at the technical and procedural details proposed by Gharibabadi regarding the "new corridor" proposal tells a different story.

▪️ When discussing a formula requiring every vessel to pass through one of the two routes (bound inward or outward) entirely within or adjacent to Iranian territorial waters—under specific conditions—it becomes clear that Iran is practically relinquishing its strict monopoly over the "Northern Route (near Larak Island)" (shown in red on the map), paving the way to open an alternative route through which it seeks to settle the existing tension.

▪️ Airing these details on official state television appears to be a calculated effort to prepare and condition domestic public opinion to accept this new reality.

▪️ Defending the nation's resilience, Gharibabadi noted that any other country facing a naval blockade and sanctions of this immense scale would have fractured and collapsed. Iran, despite the severity of these challenges, has proven its capacity to endure and has learned how to navigate life under sustained pressure.

▪️ Nevertheless, the escalating pressure resulting from the blockade and the strait's closure continues to weigh heavily on regional states and involved parties, pushing them toward negotiating channels and new outlets.

🔴 Conflicting Reports Surround Fire and Possible Attack on Two U.S.-Linked Gas Vessels at Egypt’s Damietta Port 🇪🇬 🚢 🔥

International maritime security and shipping reports on Wednesday indicated that a floating LNG storage unit and an FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) at Egypt’s Damietta Port on the Mediterranean were involved in a security incident, with conflicting accounts ranging from a drone attack to an accidental onboard fire.

🔹 International Maritime Security Account:
The British maritime security firm Ambrey reported in a preliminary assessment that a U.S.-owned LNG floating storage unit flying the Marshall Islands flag was struck by at least one drone while unloading its cargo at Damietta Port. 🚁 💥

The incident reportedly caused an explosion, material damage, and the evacuation of the vessel’s crew. ⚠️ 🚢

Sources cited by Reuters also indicated that drones may have been responsible for the explosions.

🔹 Official Egyptian Account:
Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources stated that a fire broke out aboard both the regasification vessel and the storage vessel at Damietta Port. 🔥

The ministry said emergency response procedures were immediately activated and confirmed that the incident resulted in no casualties or injuries.

Egyptian security sources denied the initial reports of a drone attack, attributing the incident instead to an internal engine fire aboard one of the vessels. ⚙️ 🚫 🚁

🔹 Operational Response:
Port management and shipping companies, including Maresk and Inchcape, confirmed that the affected vessels were safely moved away from the port area. 🚢 ➡️

Authorities expect normal operations at the remaining terminals and berths to resume progressively, while technical teams continue investigating the exact cause of the incident and its implications. 🔍
