⚠️ JUST IN: Two TeamPCP hackers arrested in Perth

Ruben Ian Thomson, 21, and Louis Michael Gaebler, 23, were arrested in Perth yesterday in a joint AFP/FBI operation. TeamPCP compromised 1,000+ organizations worldwide by injecting malicious code into open-source security tools like Trivy, Checkmarx KICS, and LiteLLM, stealing 500,000+ corporate credentials from CI/CD pipelines and 300GB of data.

Both denied bail. 14 combined charges including hacking, identity crime, and crypto money laundering. Up to 82 years combined if convicted. Krebs on Security identified Thomson as "Ellis," the group's leader until March 2026. More arrests expected.

Douglas Kim lost $1.94M after scammers used his data from Ledger’s 2023 breach to impersonate Ledger support and trick him into entering his seed phrase on a fake site. He’s now suing for the entire class: up to 210,000 customers whose data was exposed across Ledger’s multiple breaches (2020, 2023, 2026).

The lawsuit claims Ledger downplayed every breach, failed to notify customers in time, and never actually fixed their security. Ledger built its brand on keeping crypto safe.

🛡 EXPLOIT: “White hats” drain $320M in BTC from Liquid Network

Yesterday, ~4,000 BTC ($320M) was drained from the Liquid Network federation wallet, dropping the balance from 4,200 BTC to just 207. The attackers left an OP_RETURN message on-chain: “we are whitehats. contact us on chain.” They’ve since communicated with Blockstream via PGP-encrypted messages and have offered to return most of the funds once the vulnerability is patched. Liquid has paused its bridge nodes.
