Zyaire Wilkins of North Lauderdale, Florida was arrested for uploading infected games to Steam, including BlockBlasters and PirateFi. Victims who downloaded them had their wallets silently drained. He bought the RAT for $10,000 and also planned wallet drainer campaigns with the malware's developer. Three seed phrases, including a Monero wallet, seized at arrest.

The gang cold-called victims, pretended to be Met Police officers, and convinced them their crypto was at risk. Victims either handed over account credentials or transferred funds to fake "secure police accounts." 8 victims, £4M stolen, £1M recovered so far.

⚠️ JUST IN: CoinThink ringleader gets 22 years for $39M USDT fraud

Shi Qiren, leader of CoinThink Technology in Taiwan, was sentenced July 20 to 22 years for defrauding 1,539 victims out of $39M. The gang posed as the only FSC-authorized exchange, funneled victims’ cash into USDT through organized crime networks, and laundered $71M total.

14 people indicted. Shi can still appeal. 640,000 USDT and $3M+ in assets seized.

Yesterday, a bug allowed Japanese accounts to buy 10,000 Stars for $1.50 instead of $150. Gifts bought with the cheap Stars flooded the market before Telegram caught it.

Telegram refunded all Stars from the bug and reversed affected gifts. Sellers who traded gifts for dirty Stars got them back, but with a 27-day transfer cooldown. Some accounts are now sitting on negative star balances of 100K+.

A community map for MECCHA CHAMELEON silently dropped a PowerShell script on Windows PCs to download a second-stage payload. The game's Discord was then compromised after the malware infected a dev's machine, bypassing 2FA and locking out staff.

Sources obtained a video of one of the threat actors celebrating after successful RCE: "RCE FUCK**G WORKS N**GA, IM THE GOAT." Investigation still ongoing.

⚠️ JUST IN: Russia charges Durov with aiding terrorism

Russia's FSB charged Durov today under Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code, accusing Telegram of failing to remove channels used by Ukrainian intelligence and extremist groups to coordinate attacks inside Russia. An international arrest warrant has been issued. If convicted in Russia, he faces up to life in prison.

Telegram's official X account responded by posting a photo of Durov giving the middle finger 😂. Neither he nor Telegram has issued an official statement. Durov, based in Dubai with French and UAE citizenship, still faces an open investigation in France from his 2024 Paris arrest.

🛡EXPLOIT: Coldcard firmware bug drains $38M from 500 wallets in 25 minutes

A bug introduced in Coldcard's firmware back in March 2021 caused the wallet to generate private keys using predictable data (serial number, clock registers) instead of true randomness. An attacker figured out the pattern and swept 594 BTC (~$38M) from ~500 wallets in under 30 minutes early this morning.

If you created a wallet on Coldcard Mk3 firmware 4.0.1 or later, move your funds now to a freshly generated wallet.

UPDATE: Galaxy research reveals the real number is much bigger than reported: 1,082 BTC ($70.2M) from 1,196 wallets.

EXPLANATION (skip if you don't care):
When you set up a hardware wallet, it creates a secret key using random numbers. Coldcard's bug made those "random" numbers predictable because they were based on non-secret device info anyone could know. It's like a safe that claims to use a random combination, but actually bases it on the safe's serial number printed on the outside. Once you know the pattern, you can calculate the combination for any affected device and empty it remotely, no physical access needed.

⚠️ JUST IN: Crypto CEO thought he hired a hitman. He hired a fed.

Marcos Kleiman, CEO of Moneyflip, hired what he thought were real hitmen to kill a Mexican businessman over an unpaid debt. They were actually undercover federal agents pretending to be criminals.

He paid $40K total, including 25,000 USDT after agents showed him fake photos of the "victim" captured and killed. He said "Count on it" and sent the crypto. Arrested in Miami the next day.
